06/09/2021 - THE KING OF SYRIA’S MISTAKE

This is what Ben-Hadad says: Your silver and gold are mine, and the best of your wives and children are mine. 1 Kings 20.3

Because they didn’t know the Word of God, many peoples were spared from destruction, due to the patience of the Most High, and they still prospered. But if any of them tried anything against the Lord’s people or the Divine work, the Man of War would fight against such an opponent. This way, the Syrian kingdom was able to progress, but when their king wanted to humiliate and oppress Israel, the covenant made with the patriarchs weighed on God’s heart, and He acted (Genesis 12.1-3)!

Although the kings of Samaria were in sin, given over to strange cults, the king of Syria had no right to invest against them. His decision to afflict and shame them didn’t come from God, so he wouldn’t have the Lord’s approval. Let those who cause harm to those who are allied with High be warned! The divine answer will come with all fury against him.

The pride of Ben-hadad, whose name means “son of the storm god,” led him to arrogance, leading him to organize a confederation of kingdoms from the territory of Syria to attack and subdue Samaria. The mistake of the lost is to mistreat or touch those who are protected by God. This wicked man would pay dearly for the wickedness he thought of doing to afflict the seed of Abraham, God’s friend. The Lord fulfills His Word!

The problem of the Northern Kingdom would have to be dealt by God and not by a stranger to the covenant of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and consequently of those who were their heirs. Understand: it is not good to rise up to cause suffering in the servants of the Almighty, for He is avenger of the evil done to those bound to Him by the Old Covenant. The same is true in the New Covenant (1 Thessalonians 4.6)!

Pride makes the person make wrong decisions, and when this happens, without a doubt, the rebuke of divine justice comes: The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them. (Ezekiel 18.20). This is the Lord’s answer to all foolishness: A man reaps what he sows (Galatians 6.7b). Stay alert!

Selfishness is a strong proof that the person isn’t right before the Father, so they will be defeated in battles. Whoever allows the enemy to put this evil in its heart – will need to prepare himself for the difficult moments, both the wicked and the servant of the Lord. Judgment begins in the house of God (1 Peter 4.17). So don’t suffer, for you have been made king and priest to the Most High (Revelation 5.10).

Whoever thinks he is too self-confident will be humiliated and defeated by someone he doesn’t even imagine. It is best to live in the law of love, humility and the fear of God. Then the enemy, who prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5.8), will not touch you. Don’t give any room to the devil (Ephesians 4.27).

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

God of Covenant! Even if the sinner gathers his strength, he will not succeed against those who are guarded by the covenant made by You with those who obeyed and did Your will, as was the case with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The seed is protected!

That confederation of 32 kings, with horses and chariots, was the devil's weapon to threaten Your faithfulness, but it meant nothing before Your eyes, so it couldn't even remain stand before a small army!

You hear Thy people, when they cry for help. No plot against Your people can prosper, for Your faithful heart will not give the enemy the pleasure of defeating Yours. The Lord is our Avenger!
