Many do not understand that the salvation Jesus accomplished on Calvary by shedding His blood is a work that no one else could do for us. We were bound to sin and wrongdoing, but God sent His Son into the world to die in our place. We are not talking about a Hollywood movie about a story invented by some successful writer. It is a real fact! We were walking to eternal prison.

There are people so far from the truth that they joke about it and doubt the Scriptures. Wasn’t this intelligent Being, Creator of the Universe, that, seeing our sad destiny, filled with love and gave His only Son to die in our place, was not being honest? Was the account of Adam and Eve’s sin an excuse to frighten us? What kind of God would invent such a foolishness?

Outcast sinners ignore how much they will suffer if they do not convert. In the end, there will be no way to plead for another opportunity, or wake up and find out that it was all a macabre tale. What would God say to those who paid with their lives to make the Truth come to us? The story is real, and anyone who does not believe His testimony of His Son and of eternity is lost.

Sodom and Gomorrah and a few other city states around them reached the highest point of provocation of the holiness of the Lord. Therefore, He decided that they would be burned with fire and brimstone from heaven. As Abraham’s nephew Lot lived there, the angels of God in charge of this mission were sent to warn Abraham. This one would surely ask for his nephew and the people in those bands. The patriarch almost avoided the catastrophe.

Lot’s wife was fortunate to be married to the man’s nephew called the “friend of God” (James 2:23). However, she did not obey the Most High and, leaving Sodom with her husband and two daughters, wanted to take a last peek at the place, even though she knew it was forbidden. When it did, it was transformed into a salt statue (Gen. 19.26). This will happen to the believer who misses the world; he will be lost forever! (1 Jn 2:15).

Why, she should have stood firm in the word delivered by the angel. However, with his attitude, he could not leave or participate in liberation. Those who are curious about what the devil is doing these days become contaminated with what they see and then do not know why their prayers are not answered. In the world there are only unbridled desires from which we have been set free. Why go back?

Many stare at prostitution, acts contrary to nature, wickedness and derision, not at Christ. Why be carried away by the wave of immorality if the Word of God commands it to escape? Prostituting yourself is adding something worse to what God has already said is bad. Run away!
