Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.      Mark 11.29

The propagator of the Good Seed must be connected to the good Shepherd and avoid wasting opportunities. When we get in touch with the Word, the Omniscient touches our heart. The Lord’s speech is to bless and not to condemn; but, oftentimes, in order not to be condemned forever, He admonishes us about the fact that we give ear to the enemy.

There is nothing better than being guided by the Spirit. Thus, you will be successful. Through the Word, we have the Lord’s witness in us. If we walk outside the divine plan, soon we will be sad. Therefore, when you feel the divine touch, go back to the way proposed by Him.

The question made by the priests, scribes and elders show that they knew God was doing the work through His Son. Now, they were standing before God Himself, but, for unknown reasons, they ignored the truth. Many people are deceived by the devil when they stand before the Almighty. Instead of being honest, they make different questions in order to disguise their errors.

The Master didn’t say He would hide them the truth, because, as God, He wouldn’t high it from anyone who wished know it. Because He realized their malice, Christ proposed to reveal them the source of His power, as long as they talk about John’s baptism, which they rejected, although they knew it came from God. If they spoke the truth, Jesus would say that the source that gave power to John to do the work is the same one that used Him.

Those people must have been embarrassed and, between themselves, recognized that the human cleverness was no match for the Galilean Master. In fact, they should have confessed that Jesus was of God, that the works were divine and that His power came from the Holy Ghost. Unfortunately, out of wickedness, they acted like those who will never bow before the Father.

It was clear that that group of “responsible gentlemen” knew Jesus´ answer before they even made the question. The same source that used John was now using the Lord to witness the truth. However, since they did not want to accept the Lord’s advice, they were satisfied and remained in error. See what you will answer when God asks you something, because, by your words, you will be justified or condemned.

The Judaic authority didn’t want the Master to speak the truth, but that He messed up when answering back to them. This shows that they were not sincere and didn’t care about the fact that the Master is God. They just wanted to keep their religion business. Never do something prohibited with your faith, because the sentence will be rigorous.
