22/11/2019 - THE PATH THAT STRENGTHENS

Thus King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned. Now Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he became king; and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there. His mother’s name was Naamah, an Ammonitess.  2 Chronicles 12:13

As he began to attend the house of God, Rehoboam slowly learned from the Scriptures and began therefore to strengthen himself.  The Roman centurion said to Jesus: but only speak a word only, and my servant will be healed (Matthew 8:8). He was a paralytic and violently tormented, but Jesus delivered the Word and he was healed.  This now does not mean that the person was saved or delivered from misfortunes.  We must preach the entire word to all!

Although the king would go to the House of God, his heart remained the same and the devil was at work in him.  If we heal someone from the physical ill, but his soul is still dominated by sin, we have done yes something good, but not all that is necessary, because he will be eternally lost.  What were our orders from Jesus? “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”(Mark 16:15).

Rehoboam was sold to sin, so he would have to be born again, or he would be forever used by the devil.  The same can occur with any person: if they persist in transgression, their destiny will be perdition.  How could this king be a good man without loving the Lord? He feared the Lord in part.  We however, must fear the Almighty with all our heart to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  What will be your decision?

His father and grandfather were on the throne for 40 years but he only managed to reign for 17 years in Jerusalem. All those that are born again become kings and priests to God (Revelation 1:6); however if they do not reign in “Jerusalem” – in the dominion given by the Lord – , they will not in fact reign.  Since many like the help from God and also the malice taught by the enemy, they will fail.  Those who do not walk with God walk with the devil!  Mercy!

Jerusalem was the city chosen by the Almighty among all tribes of Israel to receive His name.  In the church of Christ, living according to the Scriptures, being obedient to God and serving His plan, you will succeed.  Those who have and keep His commandments love the Lord.  Study the Bible and learn what you must and what you must not do.  Thus, you will be whole in the presence of the Father.

Because he mentioned the name of Rehoboam’s mother – Naamah, the Ammonitess – the writer indicates who must have been his counselor.  Having come from a nation of idolatry she must have persuaded him to worship her other deities.  We must let go of the past of spiritual deceptions.  Only Jesus saves!

Verify what has been your role in the divine work: are you a true servant of God, or when an opportunity comes up, you allow yourself to be led by the lies of the enemy and fall into sin, saying it is only this once? Those who drink spiritual poison die!

In Christ, with Love,

Oh God! It is wonderful to live before You in holiness, and apart from the sinful ways.  This way the devil has no power over us.  Only You can give us life with abundance, where we are free from pain and sufferings!

Poor Rehoboam, son of one of the 700 wives of his father!  Certainly he did not know Your Word and therefore repeated things that he saw or knew that his father used to do.  That we may be strong and resist all temptations!

We come before You, seeking help, because we want to live and walk according to Your purpose.  In the Name of Jesus, we resist and rebuke temptations, weaknesses and other tricks of the enemy.  Your Law is our limit; Your commandments, our service, and Your love is our Judge!
