Instructed by God, David chose Mount Zion to build his fortress in Jerusalem. Taking this servant of God as an example, Christians should seek God’s guidance for everything in life, from marriage to the profession or business activity that would provide him with the resources to raise his family. Those who disregard the Lord’s guidance will one day conclude that they have acted in the wrong way. The wise grow when they seek to proceed according to the Word (Proverbs 1.7).
The Most High’s instructions to us are in Scriptures, so we should rejoice every time He opens our understanding about His revelations. His servants of the past prospered, and this did not diminish their love for the Lord; on the contrary, it even increased it: Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold (Genesis 13.2).The patriarch prospered, so why can’t his children in the faith also be successful?
Zion symbolizes the Church of Christ, which began to be built when He was crucified in Jerusalem, the city of the great King. After explaining to Peter that the heavenly Father had revealed to him who He was (Mark 16.17), Jesus spoke: And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16.18). He knows who we are and what we can be as we surrender ourselves into His holy hands.
Why try to use any religious philosophy, when only the Word has the virtue and power of the Creator’s Spirit? In the Gospel, those who convert have questions that need to be answered and desires to be fulfilled. Converts to Christ are received as beloved children of God and are soon used by Him in order to help others who do not yet know the Way to happiness. Walking beside the Master does us a lot of good!
The Truth shined, when Christ was nailed to the cross and lifted up on the place of skull (Mark 15.22). At that moment, He suffered, but He was satisfied (Isaiah 53.11). Christ understood that that sacrifice was necessary to give men enough to live well here and in eternity: Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass (Psalm 37.5). In light of this, I ask the dear reader, “Why not do this now?”
In Zion, the light has begun to shine and will continue to do so. Whoever receives faith in Jesus will never walk in darkness: Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life (John 8.12). Nor will he come into condemnation: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (John 5.24).
Walk in the light and you will never stumble over the obstacles placed before you by the devil. The saved will not return to the evil kingdom, but if he doesn’t stay alert, the enemy will cause him to stray from the holy paths. What is the reason to exchange the perfection of beauty for paths that will lead you to the lake of fire? Jesus declared, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5.14). We are built on the mountain of beauty!
In Christ, with love,

Lord! Your words about religious rules are incomparable. Your precepts are fantastic and give us wisdom. The beauty of Zion is better than any religion. To be in Your shelter makes us happy!
You are our Refuge and Strength, a very present Help in times of temptation. What more do we need, if we are in You, and You promise that a thousand will fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand, and we will not be stricken? Thank You for such love and such wonderful grace!
We want to grow in understanding, in keeping Your commandments, and in faith in Jesus. Thus, Your hand will always be stretched out upon us. We cannot accept a life without You, so we call for the beauty of Zion to be upon those who serve and love You!
and Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
