Then Saul called all the people together for war, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men. 1 Samuel 23:8

One day the wicked will be uncloaked and will live in shame forever. Afterall, the Most High who sees everything, won’t allow the plans of the wicked to move ahead. It is very unfortunate to see the attitude of those who don’t know the Lord and who challenge Him. They’d be doing a lot better if they examined what the Bible says. Without a doubt, they’d come to know the truth, believe in it and be delivered. We must pray for the lost, because they don’t know what awaits them in eternity.

For a long period of time, Saul hadn’t felt such an owner of himself as in that moment. Knowing that Keilah was surrounded by high mountains, the king sought to kill David at all cost. To the homicide, the son of Jesse’s time had come. But Saul didn’t think he’d have to face the Lord, who was David’s great shield. Take this word for yourself and smile when you face trouble, because your shield is the invincible God!

Those who practice evil will never quit their evil ideas. They constantly plan how to destroy the innocent, especially when these have been chosen by the Most High. The insanity of those who serve the devil is the same as their master’s, who has already been stripped from the power he stole from men. The evil one has been defeated and will soon be crushed under our feet. God is our strength in every situation. He is with us always. Hallelujah!

Saul ordered a general call. He wanted to all to be there, side by side on the top of the mountain, as he went down to shed the blood of the one who protected him from evil spirits. However, because David loved God with all his heart, he’d never fall into the hands of the evil king. Saul didn’t even think about what Scriptures said, because he was only interested in destroying his successor. Would he be able to do it? Never! That was the Lord’s response.

The news spread: the acting king was assembling all to watch what would happen to the hero who had removed shame from Israel a few years earlier, when he killed Goliath, the great Philistine giant who challenged the armies of the living God. Would the Lord change His opinion about who truly loved Him? Of course not. The Father is faithful and honest in all He does. Those who trust Him are safe now and forever!

Saul had only one thing in mind. After he killed David, he’d have the pleasure of proving that even God was wrong about him, when He said Saul’s time was over. Saul forgot that the mercies of the Lord never end, and because of them, we are not destroyed (Lamentations 3:22). Those who don’t serve the Lord work on vain projects. Saul’s intention was to prepare his son Jonathan, or someone else to succeed him. However, since that was the intention of his own heart, it was worthless (Proverbs 16:1)!

Hatred and the will to destroy the saved are part of the devil’s plans. But that will never happen, because the heavenly Father protects us! How could the Lord abandon David after giving him victory? The house of David would reign forever, as long as his descendants were faithful. From Solomon on, some of them were righteous, but others were evil. That’s why the promise couldn’t be fulfilled!

In Christ, with love,

Dr. Soares

God who dismantles evil threats! The devil will never be successful in his attempts against the lives of the righteous, because You won’t allow them to suffer in his hands. Your projects should be followed perfectly, and there is no dishonesty in them.

Saul praised You because David was hiding in Keilah, but since You were guiding Your servant, You showed David that he would be in danger if he stayed there. Because the old king wasn’t in tune with You, he thought about killing Your beloved servant.

It is great to know that no intent from the wicked can stand against us. The evil ones can make plans, but You will deliver us from every trap. Satan and his demons can never touch Your children, for You will guide us in perfect peace!
