Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, 2 Chronicles 20:5

Jehoshaphat´s calling was successful, since the entire nation came to ask the Lord for help and joined the king in the fasting that had been proclaimed. This was not something strictly his because although only he had committed the error of joining Ahab, everyone was to suffer the consequences. Therefore if they did not practice the fasting with all their heart, when the united armies would arrive against them, most of the men of Judah would die in a few days of battles and the women and children would suffer a terrible and tragic fate as well.

Don’t fool around with what the devil can do with you, your family and with others. He is evil and came to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10) The beautiful youth we enjoy in our homes, if lived on without Christ, in no time will be as filthy as the worst cases of people in the world of crime, prostitution and drugs. Satan does not entertain anyone, but he only causes pain, and endless suffering.

When your pastor calls for fasting, don’t pass up the chance. When you feel you must consecrate yourself for a cause, do it without telling others. If you are being rattled by temptations, led to think of horrible and repugnantly filthy things or already are practicing any of these, seek the Lord while there is time, because when the confederation from hell comes to prey you, only God will be able to help you.

None of that would have happened if only Jehoshaphat had been faithful to God’s Word. In those days, even the taxpayers were happy with him and brought him gifts; but because he had offended the Almighty they conspired to destroy the king and his nation. If you’re not careful, the same will happen to your family, your dreams, and the plan drawn up by the Lord for you to live and fulfill. Therefore don’t give in to the deceptions and the lies of the devil and yes, do return to the merciful God.

The King of Judah understood he could no longer rest, seated on his faith but had to stand before the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem in the house of the Lord, before the new court. Where do you have to stand? Pray to the Heavenly Father about this for certainly there are important spiritual positions that must be corrected and asserted by you. Then, strong before everyone and in the presence of the Omnipotent, you will be able to pray the prayer that prevails.

While praying he reminded himself before God of some facts. Acting this way he didn’t suggest that God had forgotten. Truly when we remind Him we remember ourselves and bring to mind some of His deeds and blessings in behalf of us and of others. This is crucial to maintain our faith clear of the negative impressions and lies of the enemy and accordingly progress in a prayer that prevails.

Jehoshaphat asked the Omnipotent if He was not God in the Heavens (v6). Did there exist anyone greater than Him in the spiritual realms? No, but talking this way the king called on the zeal of the Lord for what He is and can do. Actually He is the Only One in all dimensions and senses in the entire Universe. Believe in God this way always.

In Christ, with Love,

Lord! So many beautiful and wonderful things in Your Word come to our attention. As we learn the eternal truth our soul rejoices and we feel Your power and presence as never before.

We need You, Your Love, Your Power, Your Mercy! We ask for Your pity, Your rescue, Your prompt action in our favor. Without You, we are nothing, have nothing, and can do nothing. We love You!

The enemy is in action and if You do not rise up against his attacks what will be of us? We have your promise that You will never leave us or forsake us. Therefore, we pray confidently in faith that you will answer our plea. Thank you, Friend!
