And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” Mark 9:28

In the release of the boy suffering from attacks similar to those of epilepsy, we find many precious lessons that will improve our service to God. One is to understand why the disciples could not deliver that young man. Their defeat saddened Jesus, and He exclaimed: “O faithless generation! How long will I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me (Mark 9:19). He still suffers with us!

There are castes of devils, true hellish armies, who oppress people and need to be cast out, for people to live well. People do the will of these evil spirits and suffer all sorts of evils. For example, if they are under the command of a demon of theft, they will lose their property. Only deliverance in Christ solves!

There are more people oppressed by Satan than we would like to believe. In politics, it is awful, since it is common for the authorities that we elect, through their operators, to demand bribes to grant a concession or facilitate a process that should be normal. But if we do our part, which is to deliver the oppressed, these “wise guys” who suck the energy out of good people will no longer exist. The corrupt will be held accountable on Judgment Day.

Whorehouses are more and more, full of people who seek to commit the saddest sin: a human being allowing others to use them, in order to satisfy the demons of moral filth, for money, or for pure pleasure. There are those who live this kind of life, even though they know that they could be delivered and live in a holy way, without being outraged. Why does one undergo such degradation? God will hold them accountable for this error!

Some castes of demons are harder to get rid of. In the case of the boy mentioned in the verse, one had to be in prayer and fasting. The practice of fasting is to break the flesh and, in some situations, as an urgent request for God´s help. The same occurred in Persia, when King Ahasuerus was deceived and decreed the death of the Jews. Queen Esther urged her people to fast so that the king would answer her.

If the disciples were in the Spirit that day, they could have been used by God to get the boy’s father to understand that he was responsible for that demonic possession. But because they were acting in the flesh, they lacked wisdom. In addition to the revelation they lacked, it was necessary to be in consecration, with fasting and prayer. I have faced cases where it seemed that the enemy would be victorious, but thanks to God, faith in Christ prevailed!

The closer to God we are, the more used we will be. So always read Scriptures and meditate on them, taking the time to fast, pray, and see what is wrong in your life. So when an abnormal situation arises, you will undoubtedly put an end to the work that Hell has decided to do with you or someone else.
