I cried to the LORD with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. Selah  Psalm 3.4

Almost all of God’s servants today – and we serve Him according to the revelation of His Word – experience frustrations. The question to be answered is: why? Certainly, there is a difference among Christians, and this has nothing to do with any visible factor such as stature, physical complexion, skin color, or ancestry, but rather with the understanding gained from the Bible. Believing makes the difference!

King David wrote this Psalm guided by the Lord, so that we would understand how to behave before God and situations. He begins by saying that his adversaries had increased (Psalm 3.1), but this was not a problem for him. This is what we will see in this text that we are studying now. The psalmist cried out with his own voice: this is the secret of this successful servant of the Most High. Shall we learn?

The most famous king of Israel, who, by the way, never lost a battle, lived his moment before the Lord with all his heart. When he learned something from the Scriptures, he made it the basis of his faith. Then, having learned how to pray and receive the answer, he would cry out in the way that God would answer him: with his voice. What the Lord made David understand was what he expressed in words before God, so he was always answered. Do the same!

David cried out with his voice – God’s revelation – so he got the blessing. Have we been doing that? Well, because we do not believe in the teachings of the Lord nor in the fulfillment of our petitions made in the Name of Jesus, we receive nothing (Mark 11.23). Use divine instructions as the basis of your prayer. This is how we take possession of what belongs to us. It is, however, necessary to have the commandments and keep them in order to be loved by Jesus (John 14.21)!

We must use the understanding contained in the Scriptures, or no good will come to us. Why cry and fast for God’s instruction when it has already been given to us? The answer we would like to hear is the one we learn from the Word. Without listening to it, we will never succeed. The Word that He sends makes us overcomers like David. Act on what you are told, for it is your strength.

Without a doubt, the Most High did not make David write this part of the Bible so that he could be praised, but so that we could learn the secret that can make us be heard and answered. That which is revealed to us from the Word means God on our side, as it happened with Jacob. The Lord said that He would take him and bring him back (Genesis 28.15); therefore, upon hearing that Esau was coming with 400 men and would kill both him and his family, Jacob wrestled all night with the Lord (Genesis 32.22-32). Watch out for your Esau! Don’t stop fighting!

The Scriptures say that the Almighty treats us equally, abhorring the concept that there are some who are favorites and others who are not. The truth is that there are those who seek Him with all their hearts and find Him. Those who learn from the Almighty and act as He says become winners. He declares: And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29.13).

In Christ, with love,

Lord of our answer! How often do we pray and not get the solutions we seek? Now, we can have everything from You, when You have everything from us. So, we ask for forgiveness and answers to our supplications!

We will be answered when we behave as Your faithful servants in this generation. You do not treat us according to our mistakes. If that were the case, we would already be struck dead. Our evil deeds will be forgiven if we confess them and believe in You!

Your Son said that without Him we can do nothing. So here we are to receive that effective help. We cannot go on saying that we are Your servants without seeing and having the blessings we need. Help us, Father of love and mercy!
