But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18.6

God planned to place the transgressions of humanity on His Son, and He suffered them (Isaiah 53:4-6). Then, before returning to where He had come from, Christ commanded us to go out into the world and preach the Good News to people (Mark 16.15). When they hear about His sacrifice on man’s behalf, their eyes of faith will be opened and they will turn to God. This work was to save them from eternal damnation (1 Thessalonians 1:10). The Lord is faithful and just!

Some people who are considered sons and daughters of God tend to leave the right path and follow the path of iniquity. Because of the wrong way of serving the Most High, they allow themselves the opportunity to sin and thus scandalize those who trusted them. Nothing is sadder than a Christian insinuating himself to a person, suggesting wrong things to them. The deception produced by such a proposal will shock them.

In many cases, these children in the faith in Christ couldn’t bear the shame that came from those who should never have scandalized them. Now, the perpetrators of these improper attitudes will have to taste the rigor of the Judgment, and the result will be the worst possible for those who gave themselves over to error and caused the new convert to stray or grow cold in the faith. God entrusts the little ones to us to be shepherded and not confused, but why do so many do this?

Jesus showed great affection towards those who believed in Him, saying that it would be preferable for the perpetrator of a scandal to be thrown into the depths of the sea with a millstone hung around his neck. It would be better to lose your life here, but to be able to get rid of the temptations that would destroy you forever. Those who are faithful to God go about making disciples, who will become good examples too (2 Timothy 2.2)!

When you serve the Lord as the Scriptures command, you will never be confused. However, if you leave the right path, returning to it is not impossible, but you will have to make a great effort to free yourself from the chains of death that can bind you in sin. Why would someone who has found the light turn to the devil in order to be deceived? Be careful not to fall! Show everyone the good testimony that Jesus is the Deliverer of the oppressed. Free yourself now!

In Esau’s case, his repentance was not accepted because, in his heart, he had despised the statute of birthright: And let no man be a fornicator, or profane, as Esau was, who sold his birthright for meat (Hebrews 12.16). There may be no forgiveness for a transgression committed consciously, especially if the person was assisted by the Holy Spirit and didn’t care about what they did or said (Hebrews 10:26-31).

Be careful with your attitudes, because you may be disregarding God’s Word. Wickedness of heart should never be accepted. In Esau’s case, he was given the warning that his act would be unrepentant, but he continued to sin, deliberately!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Lord, You will judge everything! To stand before You in sin will not be a good thing. Certainly, Your Spirit convinced the individual of his iniquity, but he did not amend and did what he had determined. Father, help this person to be saved!

Those who are now being led to Your house are the little ones mentioned by Jesus. They must not be scandalized by anything. If they are, those who cause them trouble will be responsible for leading them astray. We don't want to be at fault with You! Forgive us and deliver us from evil!

We invoke Your Name on behalf of anyone who has been outraged by the actions of one of Your children! May they be comforted by You! Those who have been a stumbling block must realize what they have done and seek Your forgiveness. We pray that no one will be a defendant in the eternal Judgment. Help us!
