The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and His word on my tongue. 2 Samuel 23: 2

When the Spirit of God speaks, even that which does not exist comes into existence (Romans 4: 17). For Him to work grace, human element is unnecessary, or such a purpose to be born in the heart of man by his own initiative. It takes only faith, and it comes by listening to the Word (Romans 10:17). So let us cooperate with those who seek help of the Most High. Just as God spoke through David, He will do this by using our lives.

In the past, the patriarchs, prophets, kings and priests were instruments of the Lord’s messages to us. Now, in the last times, the Father drives His servants through the Son, for that reason He does not speak in person anymore. This happened because the revelation was completed. Today, He makes Himself understood by Jesus in the Bible. His speech is given by understanding the records of the Scriptures. After this enlightenment, faith arises in us and we are prepared to fulfill His beautiful will.

Where you are, if you have fellowship with God and are filled with the Holy Spirit, you can be a tool to transmit His words to the needy. This is called the gift of prophecy: transmit the divine message by inspiration. Pastors should always be filled with this spiritual gift. With its use, congregations would be exhorted, built and comforted. Now, without revelation – the inspired Word – the people cast off restraint (Proverbs 29: 18).

It is a privilege to be a channel of the Most High to convey His message and see His work be fulfilled in one’s life. Surely, He will not use a person in sin. Apart from this circumstance, the Lord selects what He wants to be His instrument. He used the mule to rebuke Balaam for following an evil path. The prophet received this warning, because he would comply with the request of the king of Moab against Israel (Numbers 22: 28-35).

David said, “The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue” (2 Sam. 23: 2). It would be wonderful if many would allow themselves to be used by the Lord. Thus, His good Word would reach those who are suffering, who would be strengthened and powerfully used as well. Be their true friend, employing the authority given to you to tie or bind that which is necessary.

When you feel God is using you in one direction, check to see if it is in accordance with the biblical texts. If it is not, it did not come from Him. The devil put in Peter’s heart the desire to rebuke Jesus (Matthew 16: 23). This was when the Master told His disciples what would happen to Him in Jerusalem. No one should speak more than it is allowed, but should submit to the Holy Spirit to perform His one perfect will.

My prayer is that the saved give themselves completely to the Lord, serving Him with all their soul, with all their heart and all their strength. Consequently, many will be saved, delivered, and healed. To carry out the divine work is to speak, walk and consecrate yourself just as He did.
