The servant Abraham’s faith in the Lord prompted him to seek deep down the promises that enabled him to believe in God. Isaac’s faith in God made him pray for 20 years for Rebekah to obtain from the Lord the heir who would fulfill the promise. In another case, while still in his womb, Jacob was passed over by his stronger twin. When born with a hand gripping Esau’s heel, it was as if to say, “One day I will reverse this defeat.”
Moses would have been killed at the time of his birth had it not been for the faith of his parents, who led the Egyptian midwives to disobey Pharaoh’s command, sparing the child’s life. Their wonderful plan caused him to be raised as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. However, as an adult, he preferred to suffer alongside his brothers rather than partake of the riches and easy life of the world’s greatest empire at that time. Moses set Israel free!
Joshua placed God’s people in the Promised Land, even though at his death at the age of 110 there was still much land to be conquered. His work was fantastic! With no technology and facing the hindrances of that time, he placed all the tribes in their portions and each family in their fair share. He tore his garments when he lost the fight for Ai (Josh 7:6), but it was revealed to him that the cause of defeat had been a disobedient among them.
The judges worked in a time when the flesh spoke louder to the Israelites and delivered them from the endless oppressions. Samuel was born by his mother’s faith. He acted as judge, prophet, and king of the people whose heart was not circumcised. He lifted up Saul and then David as kings of Israel. The son of Jesse defeated the eternal enemies of Israel. At the same time, he was a warrior and a holy man, two extremes in one man.
The prophets did not fear the threats of the evil rulers. When they were heard, they brought the Israelites to the Most High, as it happened to Elijah and the drought he brought upon his nation, so that they would learn to fear the Lord. Elisha proved to be able to do twice as much as Elijah, and even his walk was God’s, for he made the rich woman convince him to eat bread when he passed by. Elisha healed her from sterility, and when her son died, he brought him to life (1 Kings 17:22).
A lot could be said about the other prophets, who had their moments of extracting the Living Water from the depths of the well. We could not fail to mention Jesus the Savior, who brought us out of darkness and transported us into the Kingdom of Light (Colossians 1:13), and from the early apostles to the present, individuals who despise material wealth but strive to go deep into the well to quench the thirst of the chosen people. Glory to God!
Given this, what have you been doing for the people to have Living Water? Have you wasted your life on vain things, or done your best for the lost to become servants for whom Jesus paid such a high price? The time to act in God is now, so make the decision to go to the bottom of the well and get the Living Water!
In Christ, with love,

There is a multitude leaving at every moment towards eternal perdition, because we haven´t done more to bring them out of perdition. Even if the well is deep, having You as Master, we will be able to act like Jesus in His days on Earth!
and Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
