07/06/2018 - THE YOKE OF BURDEN WAS BROKEN

For You have broken the yoke of his burden and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.  Isaiah 9:4

The devil’s yoke over us was heavy, but Jesus delivered us, and dissipated this demonic prison.  Today, free from the hands of the enemy, we can enjoy the fruits of the abundant life brought through Christ (John 10:10b) and through it, glorify our God.  The truth is that if we do not defeat the attacks of the devil, we will not please the Lord.He has already given us authority over the powers of darkness (Luke 10:19)!

When Christ defeated the enemy, we were released from his capacity to make us suffer.  Now, having received Jesus as Lord and Savior of our lives, we can adore Him and serve Him.  If the Lord broke the chains that bound us to the devil, it is more than time to accept what He did in your favor and start living in freedom, because this is why He sacrificed Himself on the cross.

There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, in true faith in the Son of God (Romans 8:1). They can walk without fear of the snares of the devil.  For having been converted and being born again, now being private property of God (1 Peter 2:9), they can rely and depend on divine assistance always.  Undoubtedly Satan will no longer oppress them.  The saved must live this way.

The day of the Midianites arrived with the announcement that the captivity to the devil was at an end.  Gideon symbolized Jesus, who would come to end Satan’s kingdom.  However, the son of Joash, of the poorest family in Israel, did not understand that he resembled the Savior.  When the Lord’s angel said that Gideon would deliver Israel from the hands of the Midianites, he gathered a multitude of patriots to help him, but the Omnipotent said that there were too many (Judges 7:2).

The multitude of 32 thousand people was reduced to 300 soldiers, with whom Gideon destroyed the plans of the evil Midianites. However, Jesus the true and real Deliverer, did what He did all by himself.  Only He was able to enter the wine press of faith (Isaiah 63:3).  Many times we are prepared by the Lord, but we have doubts and seek help from others to execute our mission.  Now, when God calls us, He also enables us and if we but only obey Him we soon obtain victory.

The rod that wounded our shoulders has been broken.  Therefore, the devil is rendered incapable of affecting us.  It was shattered  by Him who is perfect in His ways, and the devil will not be able  to mend it.  Live fearlessly, and the enemy will never have his rod back.  Not even if he gathers all its pieces, Satan could render it effective again.  On His ascension, Jesus led captivity captive and gave gifts to men (Ephesians 4:8)!

The oppressor’s scepter no longer exists.  In His rage, the Lord stepped in the wine press, and now everything is crushed.  Christ’s cloak is proof that nothing else can oppress us or turn us back into the oppressed and subdued by the prince of darkness.  We are delivered free and will never serve the enemy again.  To God be the glory and the honor!

In Christ, with Love,

Lord! Nothing ties us to the enemy any more, for the yoke was broken by Your Son.  Therefore, we are now more than conquerors.  Our deliverance is complete. We have only to lay hold and possess what You have done for us.

What weighed us down has been shattered.  We no longer have to bow before the devil’s evil desires.  Believing what You say, we order that all the evils that attack us be destroyed because in Christ we are free from evil.

It is good to be Your people!  At the Savior’s death, the rod that wounded our shoulders and the oppressive staff were broken.  The Midianites met their Match that ended their violent kingdom.  Not only did they lose their prey, they were defeated.
