See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.  1 Thessalonians 5:15

The Holy Spirit is the Person of the Trinity who took Jesus´ place, being called by Him another Helper (John 14:16). He is the Author of Sacred Scriptures and, therefore, the Person of God who guides us in all Truth (John 16:13) and wishes the best to all His children, members of the Body of Christ. Here is God’s advice: make sure that no one renders evil for evil. This should get a hold of our attention.

We are made stewards of goodness, so that all may reach perfect manhood (Ephesians 4:13). The Christian must render whatever harm is done to him with good. Love must always be the mark of God’s servants. Thus, people will find it worthwhile to trust those who truly are committed to the Lord. Failing to carry out divine work as He directed harms the Gospel.

The orientation of the verse can be applied to the social area, but without a doubt, the Most High is referring to the spiritual realm. Only people who had an experience with Jesus are able to do good. Others simply don’t know what that is. Christ set an example for us by going everywhere doing good and healing the oppressed by the devil (Acts 14:17). We need people who had an encounter with God, so that the work can be done as He wants.

It is useless to be sympathetic to the lost, because what they need is to find the one who has the anointing capable of delivering them from the enemy’s oppression. Now, when a person is in the clutches of evil spirits, they have no health, peace or patience to listen to what we have to say. But, if we speak the truth about what God wants to do for them, their hearts will soon rejoice and open up to listen to Jesus’ message. That is love!

We must follow the good, as the Master did. Otherwise, we will be pampered by everyone, but not accepted in the presence of God. I will say this again: those who are facing a problem and do not know what to do, need more than educated people who can serve them; they need someone who has the authority to cast outl the evil that oppresses them in the Name of Jesus. Then, they will be grateful, and our Father will be very happy.

Good should be pursued by those who have faith in the Lord, extending it to those who have not yet learned from Christ. He told us to do that, and that was certainly what Paul said and did. The apostle was a faithful doer of this order, so he went to countries considered to be of the Gentiles, where no one had heard of the Savior, and there he ministered the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit. Halleluiah!

The entire world groans under the devil’s enslaving clutch. Many even within churches no longer endure so much suffering. Jesus told us to go everywhere and preach the Good News to every creature (Mark 16:15). However, we have not seen that happen. Is God happy with us for what we have done? What do you say?

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

> Today´s Message

God of peace and love! When we hear the Gospel, we feel like the worst people because of our sins. As we learn that we can get out of this meaningless life, we accept Jesus and change for the better.

Today, we are dominated by Your love. We live uprightly, because Your grace has redeemed us. Being new creatures, we no longer think like we did in the past. What matters is to live to please You and make others happy.

We want to do good to our brothers and also to the lost, who are in these conditions due to lack of understanding. As Your children, we will try to serve You better. May our life glorify You!
