If a man on the Sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the Sabbath day? John 7:23

Jesus has given us grace and truth, the explanation of the events of the Old Testament and the many wonders that would continue until His return.  He showed the religious how they gave excessive attention to the Law of Moses while they disdained the more important aspects: judgment, mercy and faith.  They created a religious environment which was barren and fruitless and obstructed the Lord’s work in their midst.

In order not to break the law, they circumcised a man on the Sabbath to keep the Law.  This should have been done on the eighth day of his life which showed that they were not keeping the law correctly.  This was not a priority for the Lord. The circumcision was transitory and symbolized an act done to the heart of those who converted to the Gospel, marking them as property of God.

Those who have not reached a higher level of spiritual maturity, which is achieved by listening to the Holy Scriptures and recognizing the Holy Spirit in action, revealing us the meaning  of what is written, achieves things they consider more important than to cooperate with the power of God in action. He wants to save people from eternal condemnation which is certain to take the lost sinners to Hell.

Instead of praising and applauding the complete healing of the paralytic (John 5:8,9,16 ), those religious people were angry with Jesus for having performed that miracle. Something similar happens in our days.  We often give more worth or value to a beautiful temple or to the liturgy of a service which almost always are man- made, without God’s participation and we forget the lives that are oppressed by demons, which leads them to sin in sordid ways. Most High, have mercy on them!

Let us focus our attention on Jesus’ words.  He said He healed a man completely. This teaches us that many times He heals in stages, according to the person’s faith or the possibility of the person to believe when God’s power is administered. The error may be in our teaching because we know there is no possible error or inability in the Most High. Believe, undoubtedly that He still wants to heal and restore people completely.

It is crucial that we understand His divine way of operating.  It is not correct to add or subtract one thought from the Word.  In both cases, we get in the way of someone’s faith in the Lord. All those that hear the Word understand the will of the Father; however, if not divinely taught, the believer may not act in accordance or even contrary to what would assist and collaborate with the Omnipotent in His plan. After praying, all we need is faith. Do this!

Our message to all must be just like the one Jesus ministered, which has the power to heal the ill completely. If we don’t do so, the blame is not His; actually, the history and tradition of men can prevent the Holy Scriptures from fulfillment. Pay attention to God’s word, which is His voice for your life. Believe it!

In Christ, with Love,

Father!  Among many good things that we learn as we meditate on this verse, we learn that Jesus healed a man completely on a Sabbath. This happened because he is the One who blesses and that man had faith.

Deliver us from religious ideas which most often diverge from the Truth. This also teaches that the complete miracle can happen in many people’s lives if they believe in You and the preacher does not waiver in faith.

Help us to cooperate with You so that your Glory will be revealed.  This way we will please You, many will hear Your word and witness Your hand work in the same manner as long ago. To You be the praise and the glory!
