…and that you may tell in the hearing of your son and your son’s son the mighty things I have done in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them, that you may know that I am the LORD.” Exodus 10:2

It´s good to talk not only about what God promises to do, but also talk in details about what He did for those who trusted in Him. The biblical narrative in all its extent, leads people to understand every matter, because, certainly Its teachings are very important to those who listen to them. The Most High had two reasons when He hardened Pharaoh´s heart, before fulfilling the promise He made Abraham to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt. 

The first was to do His signs in him, for, without those actions that brought much suffering to his people, he would have done an unimaginable evil to the Hebrews, hindering the work carried out by the Lord to give us the Savior of our soul. Those who give in to sin simply can’t imagine what can be done to them and to their family, so that they’re not a deadly instrument in the hands of Satan. 

The second reason was so that the Israelites never forgot who they were and what was done in their favor. Those who were delivered would become better servants of God, if they remembered what they suffered and of how they deviated from the good path. They were delivered from the demons that enslaved them and now, free from their old lords and their evil, they can live for the good. 

Moses told the Pharaoh that the Lord would bring a plague that would devour everything that was left from the locusts. In it, the gods that they said protected the harvest and vegetation, Serapis and Isis, divinity created in hell, were embarrassed. It was proven that they were pure evil creations, because, although they were considered to be protectors of agriculture, they could do nothing against the locusts. 

Everything that the hail did not destroy, even the trees that were growing on the field, were devoured by the locusts. It was God showing His power to do whatever He wanted. The king’s decision to believe in the demons that deceived him, when he forbid the Hebrews to leave, was the reason why everything bad happened to him, but he simply did not believe. Today, many people will pay a high price for rejecting the determinations of the Lord. 

Those who don’t humble themselves before the Almighty will be humiliated for their arrogance and rebellion. The Pharaoh knew that God was carrying out judgment in his land, but he simply did not surrender. There were still two more plagues to go, after the locusts, which was about to happen to the Pharaoh as part of the divine work. How long will a person rise up against the plans of the Creator and endure His correction? He corrects us for our own good. 

It doesn’t matter who you are; make things right with the Heavenly Father because when the eternal judgment comes, you will be heading towards eternal suffering if your sins have not been washed in the blood of Jesus. Why despise the Creator and love the destroyer?
