Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.  Isaiah 30.18

The Lord shows Himself in the Scriptures as a God of patience, who waits until the last hour not to condemn anyone to eternal punishment (1 Timothy 2.3,4; 2 Peter 3.9). Looking at what God says in the Bible, we are led to believe that He really does care about our future dwelling, which is why He doesn’t deal with man right after he has made mistakes, as we would expect. The patience of the Most High is due to His love for those He created to live in fellowship with Him (Lamentations 3.22,23). God is good!

The verse we are studying guarantees: the Lord will wait for man to turn to Him, confessing his errors and taking on divine mercy. God understands that we are weak; after all, with the sin committed by Adam, death – the devil’s nature – entered us and made us susceptible to temptations. However, this should not be used as an excuse to continue transgressing, because Jesus has already stripped the devil of the power to oppress us (John 12.31; 19.30).

We must believe in the Lord as the Scriptures present Him: Almighty God, capable of solving any problem. But if we compare Him to the gods of religions, invented by man or presented by Satan, He cannot operate. Now, the Most High is what we make Him to be. He will fulfill His promises, if we trust in His Word. The Bible is the Book to be examined daily, without ceasing (Psalm 1.1-3)

God expects us to magnify Him to act in our favor. Whoever believes in a small, impotent god, or one without the strength to help those who trust in him, will certainly not have the help of the true God. He is what He claims to be and does what He says (Numbers 23.19). In the same way, man is what the Lord says he is and can do what He authorizes. When this person believes, the powerful hand of the heavenly Father will come into action and perform the necessary work. He and His Word are one!

Whoever exalts God does good to himself. In this way, He can have mercy on that person. Those who treat Jesus as an ordinary person will never be helped in times of struggle. It is always best to respect the Creator, for He can act on behalf of everyone in every situation. Understand that the Most High and His love do not change like the seasons, nor does He cool down in winter, nor heats up in summer!

The Lord is a God of equity – he treats everyone equally (Deuteronomy 10.17). So, we can say to anyone: there are no favorites. The Most High answers those who come to Him with faith, by listening to the Word, and such a person receives the blessings (John 6.37). There is not the slightest condition for God to stop giving attention to those who seek Him in the revelation of the Scriptures. In fact, those who learn their rights in Christ must soon take possession of them – by faith.

The secret of those who desire divine favor is to be in accordance with the Word of God. Without a shadow of a doubt, we can declare: But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength (Isaiah 40.31). Align yourself with the Truth, and it will set you completely free!

In Christ, with love,

Lord of blessings! We thank You, because You have mercy on us and You wait for us. Those who trust in You will inherit the promised gifts. They all guarantee equal treatment to anyone. This is so rewarding!

We want to exalt You, and in this way You will have mercy on us. It also gives us the assurance that we will not be confused in the battles against the forces of darkness, which persistently try to make us believe lies. Father, thank You!

Knowing that You are God of equity and grant equal treatment to all, makes us equal to Your servants of the past. We have decided to trust You, for just as You have always honored the Name of Your Son, You will always honor Him. In the Name of Christ, we are grateful!
