The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and plundered the city, because their sister had been defiled. Genesis 34.27

Dinah’s brothers felt entitled to take away all the spoils, for they acted as if they were in a war. At that time, the victorious country took for itself the goods of the defeated. After killing the Hivite men of that kingdom, they released Dinah from prison in the house of Shechem and plundered everything in the city. From one moment to the next, those ashamed became victorious!

At Jesus’ return, although various nations of the world keep a lot of gold for unknown reasons, nothing here will be taken away. The riches will go through the fire: Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3.12). Nothing that is here will be found in Heaven; even the saved will receive glorified bodies. Believe that!

Going into battle was never good; however, many times it was a people’s guarantee for their preservation. The problem in that kingdom was that the son of the greatest meddled with the people of the Lord, from whom the Savior would be born. If Jacob’s sons had accepted the proposal made by Hamor to unite their families, they would certainly have been disqualified by God and would have been just another people to disappear with time. Bu the Israelites exist to this day as a nation!

To get to the time of Christ’s birth, the Jews faced many obstacles, but they were not destroyed by anyone, not even by the most wicked man on earth, Adolf Hitler. This wretch was used by the devil to kill more than six million of Israel’s people; however, he was eliminated. It will be a struggle to the very end. But when the remnant is saved, they will do the Lord’s work with the same enthusiasm seen in this study.

In our days we have sometimes seen the Arab nations unite for the purpose of wiping Israel off the map, but none of this ever happened. The Lord will teach them lessons, until suddenly, they will find Jesus and in Him – salvation. Acting wisely is the method used by the Almighty to carry out His will done. He will never be hindered from fulfilling it. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and be prosperous!

The Assyrian king Sennacherib was very arrogant, defying the God of Israel, but a single angel was sent and took out the lives of 185,000 of his best soldiers (2 Kings 19.35). No one who stands against the Lord remains standing. It has been so to this day and will continue to be. Likewise, the Church of Christ will triumph in its mission to give the world the testimony of the Truth, thus, it will be raptured by the Master!

Jesus said: For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother (Matthew 12.50). You will know God’s purpose in the gospels. Be the special person that the Father wants to lift up. He will seek those who do His work with love, faithfulness and holiness. Remember: without holiness no one will see the Lord (Hebrews. 12:14)!
