28/05/2019 - WE ARE DEBTORS

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. Romans 8.12

We are not debtors to the flesh, because we live according to its lusts – its unbridled desires – because we are born and live in it. But when we hear the message of redemption and understand it, we can no longer act like those who have not yet been enlightened by the Truth. If we sin, we shall be in debt with the Spirit of God, who dwells in us. We are saved to honor our Lord and serve Him.

Society expects more of us, Christians; it groans under the enslaved yoke of the devil. When they hear that we have found the Source of love, Jesus, people feel that we can give them the same water that He brings, in order to quench their thirst for the Truth. However, if our attitudes are just like theirs, we will frustrate them forever. We are called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13, 14) – responsible for leading all to deliverance and eternal life with God.

Jesus warned: For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.(Luke 12: 48b). Based this text, understand the following: if you are saved but have not consecrated yourself to the Father and live as if you have embraced the faith in any which way, you will have problems on the Day of Judgment. Now, the Lord will ask of us more than we think we is fair. He has called us to carry out a serious work – to save lives that are marching towards eternal doom – but we do nothing!

Stop getting involved with the fascination of riches, thinking that you are strong enough to become very rich and not get lost. Just do what God told you to do. Otherwise, the devil will be happy with your sluggishness in the faith in Christ. The saved should remember the words of Jesus when He said that if our righteousness does not exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, we will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew  5:20). Mercy and help us now!

We are in debt with the lost. We were also lost one day, but when we listened to the voice of the Most High, we were saved. Today, we enjoy the wonderful life provided by the Lord and we are free from the torments of the enemy, whether they are diseases or other evils. However, we do nothing. That is so sad! Can we think of being saved if we are evil?

We are indebted to God, who gave us His Spirit to do as His Son did: take Your Word to those in need. Sinners need to be saved, the sick have to be healed and the demons possessed have to be delivered. That which we do in our services, can it be compared to the Master’s actions? We are very wrong by leaving the beautiful Example aside and doing other things outside the teachings of Jesus.

It does not matter who we are; we have to obey the Lord, or we will face serious problems when He comes back. He will require from us all those that are lost because we did not obey His command: go into all the world and preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15). If we want to go to Heaven, we can not live according to the flesh. Wake up to this reality and be a servant!

In Christ with love,

Sir! How can we sleep in peace, if we have not done what You have commanded us? There are millions of unsaved people who are heading towards eternal damnation because of their filthy practices. Mercy!

We have been purified by the blood of Your Son and regenerated by Your wonderful grace, but it has not been able to use us to give to those who have not heard about You the same as You gave us, because we have not come up to them and told them about Jesus.

We need Your help in order not to be deceived by the devil. We want a beautiful house, large and well located, but the lost live as if You do not exist, and so they don´t have the right to live in Your house. We have to act according to Your will!
