After Saul’s death, David did not take possession of the kingdom of Israel, because Ish-bosheth, one of Saul’s sons, wanted to be king at any price. When there are problems, God’s servants pray for the divine will to prevail, because man’s solution leaves sorrows, hurts and pains. The best decision is to deliver matters into the hands of the Most High. By doing this, after a while, we will see that God always works with faithfulness, love and peace!
It had been a long time since the son of Jesse had been anointed king by the prophet Samuel. Nevertheless, David did not use force to take the kingdom. Nothing better than to wait for the time determined by Heaven. At the right time, there will be no complaining or murmuring, because the hearts of the subjects and the necessary resources will be ready. Now, what comes from God is a blessing that we cannot lose. Whoever trusts in the Lord will overcome.
One of David’s virtues was patience. After all, if the choice for him to rule the nation came from Heaven, divine power would work to make the rule of the son of Jesse memorable. David would only war against Ish-bosheth if he received the approval of the heavenly throne in this matter. Never act according to your mind, but stand firm in the Word. By acting according to the instruction from on High, you will succeed. The Lord’s direction is always the best!
After some events, the men of Israel who commanded a large part of those who were ready to go to war went to David with their commanders. They assured the king that they wanted him to reign. God showed with this meeting that David’s time to reign was drawing near, and it needed to be done. We are the Lord’s instruments, but before He uses us, He needs to prepare us to do as He wishes.
They were there for three days with David. Even though they were numerous, the people came together in faith and great love, and gave them what they needed. Helping those who go out to cheer the Lord and fulfill the divine plan, through obedience, will result in gifts for everyone. Some people have not yet understood how precious and productive it is to support the advancement of the Gospel!
The people from the cities near Hebron – and even from some places a little further away – offered the best to those who sought the king. They had prepared the provisions and felt from God that the decisive hour was coming. Thus, David was made king of all Israel. What was to come next would be the best for the nation, for with the son of Jesse on the throne, no one would torment them any longer.
When the Lord works, everyone is happy and ready to do what is best for Heaven, but the opposite is also true. The Father will help us to govern His harvest, because He said He would never leave us or forsake us. David remained king until he was very old, and even then, he still chose his successor, who was unanimously accepted. God knows how to take care of His work!
In Christ, with love,

Beloved God! There must never be disagreements, partisanship, or divisions in Your work, for Your Spirit works all in all as You desire. Blessed are those who give themselves to Your work under Your guidance. In the end, they will receive their reward!
Deliver Your Church from the evil workers, who do not accept Your command. Mercy to those who bring scandal and to the insubordinate, who do not measure the consequences to satisfy their evil desire!
May we see the good servants, true warriors of prayer and power, who have Your approval! Then everyone will feel that the decisions came from You, as in Hebron, and this will be widely commented upon. The work needs strong arms and holy hearts!
