27/12/2021 - WHO IS YOUR FATHER?

I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.” John 8.38

Almost all people respond firmly, saying that God is their Father. Some even get angry if we disagree with their words; after all, even if they admit that they don’t believe in the Lord, they wouldn’t want to have Satan as their father, “if he even exists,” they claim. The truth is that only those who receive Jesus can call God their Father: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name (John 1.12). Amen!

You know whether you are in fact a child of God by the intimacy He allows you to have. Now, if a son has the right to hear from his father the advice that can make him wise, why do most Christians spend their days without communion with the Most High? Jesus said: Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner  (John 5.19). Can we use the same tools used by the Master? Certainly, for, if we are to do the same works (John 14.12), we need the same access to the Lord.

How many times are we afflicted by evil, we pray and nothing happens? Why don’t we get the same assistance? Without a doubt, God’s foreknowledge has placed in His Word everything that man needs today and will need until the end of his life. Why don’t we know what to do if we have to produce the same results? Does married life hinder us? Certainly not; after all, God’s servant must be the husband of a woman (1 Timothy 3.2). What´s missing then?

Do we allow God to mold us? Or do we do something more “important” than taking care of the Father’s affairs? These questions will make us reflect on what we lack, but the answers will only be found in the infallible Word of the Lord. Therefore, it would be good to dedicate more time to study the Scriptures and to say no to serving the tables, as the apostles did (Acts 6.2). What will be your attitude?

Whoever is in charge of the congregation or the family, must meditate on the responsibility he has been given and devote himself to prayer and the study of the Truth. If that individual does not draw from his treasury the good things that will feed his sheep, he will not be a good steward: Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.” (Matthew 13.52). This is the mission to be accomplished!

According to Jesus, there is no neutrality! Either you learn from God or from the devil. The slothful will be judged for their negligence, and by all means condemned. The excuse that you prayed and did not receive instruction from the Lord is not convincing. We are told to act like good fathers of families, who know no crisis, but go to work under any weather and bring food for their little children. This obligation weighs on us!

What preacher or householder lives at the feet of Christ, to learn how to act when someone like the young lunatic is led to him? The disciples failed to deliver him, so Jesus exclaimed: He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me”  (Mark 9.19). What do you say?

In Christ, with love,

Father, Revealer of the Truth! Being called by You to do Your work, we come before You to give thanks for the revelation given by Jesus. So, we have no right to justify our negligence, saying that we didn't have access to Your guidance!

The enemy has made our brothers lazy; others are lost in the lust of man's vain doctrine, which makes up lies, saying, for example, that You do no miracles today. But there is no change in You or in Your holy work!

We want to contemplate what happens with You, and not what happens with the devil. Our greatest desire is to fulfill the same works of Christ, so that people may achieve a pure and operating faith. Forgive us of our lies and laziness!
