03/07/2021 - WHY THE WORK TAKES TIME

And the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you little by little; you will be unable to destroy them at once, lest the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Deuteronomy 7.22

All actions of the Most High are done based on His wisdom, which is infinitely greater than ours. Therefore, we must not get impatient when our petitions to God are not immediately answered; He knows details that we can’t even imagine! It is very good when we let the divine work take place and don’t try to force His operation. Without a doubt, there is nothing wrong or imperfect in what the Almighty does. So, be patient!

The Lord assured the Israelites to drive out the nations that inhabited Canaan, but He would do this at the right time. Life on earth imitates spiritual life; just as it takes a certain time for people to mature and develop their muscles – in faith, there is also a period of preparation, during which we become approved and strong, so that we can enter the battles and overcome the strength of the evil one. The secret is to wait on the Lord (Psalms 27:14, 37:34)

Having given the Word, the Almighty will fulfill it at the best time. He needs no help, but we must strengthen ourselves in Christ, to be used by Him. If the work is done all at once – as man is sly in every way, he will leave everything for God to solve. However, we are Heaven’s agents, assigned to fulfill just as our Father has programmed.

The clearance of Canaan would be done little by little. Then, the Israelites would have time to learn to depend on heavenly power and overcome those kingdoms. The work was God’s, so they could be quiet without exposing themselves against the inhabitants there. So, when the time came, those people would be tired of knowing that they would lose the battles. Those who have divine instruction find that the yoke is easy and the burden is light (Matthew. 11:30).

God Himself would drive out those nations before His people. This shows that He will not operate far from His children. According to David, the Lord prepares a table in the presence of our enemies (Psalms 23:5), which proves His awareness that there is no one who can do us any harm and stand in our way. Therefore, obey the commands of the Most High, because they will be part of His action on your behalf.

Even if they got impatient and set out to destroy their enemies at once, this would not be the most prudent attitude, for they would have problems with the beasts that were there. As the Word declares, the hasty man sins: Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge, And he sins who hastens with his feet. (Proverbs 19:2) Let yourself be led by the Holy Spirit and you will succeed in everything you do. God is good and wise!

There is nothing better than our problems being solved by the Lord’s direct action; thus, we will not be surprised by adversities, whether they come from the spiritual or physical world. He who knows how to count the stars knows everything. Amen!
