The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I have not strayed from Your precepts.  Psalm 119.110

Be careful with those who do not have respect for the Word, for they are worse than the lost sinners. Those who call themselves godly, but accept the suggestions from the devil to harm, steal, or cause harm to people, are like Judas Iscariots, the disciple who was possessed by Satan to betray Jesus. Many times, there are people like this right besides us, which may even seem to be polite and friendly.

The wicked do not think twice to respond to the enemy’s request and harm you. For that reason, it is better to flee the wicked, not giving any chance for them to be at your side. However, even when they are far away, the wicked breathe threats against the righteous all the time, envying their prosperity, happiness, and communion with the Lord. In their wickedness, all that they want is to please themselves.

Do not attend to any of their counsels, nor letyourself be taken by any of their proposals, for they are all contaminated with lies from the evil one. They only see their evil purpose, and do not care about their attitudes. They may, for example, make the person that is faithful to the Lord to stop obeying the divine orders. After all, they are not interested at all in the salvation of the lost.

The wicked prepare all types of traps. Thus, if the righteous are not alert, watching out in the Spirit, they may be led towards dishonesty, marital infidelity, and acts of prostitution. Some even advise their own sister to betray her husband, and others suggest to their mother and father to find another person. The fact of not loving the Most High has stripped these people of doing any good.

The secret for not falling and not imitating the steps of the sinner is not departing from the divine precepts. Now, there is no other way of not being influenced by the wicked if not by holding to what is written in the Bible. The spouse that does not know the Lord may even say to her other half, in a moment of intimacy that he would not mind if she had an affair with someone else. The mouth of the wicked only says things that please the devil.

The proposals from the wicked come when we are going through the most difficult moments in our lives: “you are so silly, leave your husband and enjoy your life!”; “Stop being stupid, your boss is getting rich with your job, and what have you achieved?”; “Oh! Don’t worry, everyone does it, so why shouldn’t you?” Probably, you have heard many phrases like these, and you will be responsible if you comply with the wicked.

God has given us His precepts so that we may be freed from Satan’s traps. The wicked are messengers from the evil one to drive you away from the divine presence and make you stumble and suffer. Therefore, be sensible and flee the wicked.
