May God Almighty bless you, And make you fruitful and multiply you,That you may be an assembly of peoples; Genesis 28:3

Before he blessed Jacob, Isaac called him and told him not to take for a wife any of the daughters of Canaan (Genesis 28:1).  In our days we have seen Christians marry to people who are not of the Lord’s and later on when the relationship fails, they say that they tried their best but to no avail.  Alas, we must obey God, but some people insist on living like the lost, and as if that were not all, they marry outside of the biblical guidance.

Isaac’s order to Jacob was clear: He was to go to Padan Aram to his grandfather’s house and to take as his wife one of Laban’s daughters, Rebekah´s niece.  If he did not obey Isaac’s instruction, Jacob would be at fault and to blame.  Following these orders he would see that the Lord had spoken these things and that all the pieces would fit.  However, if he behaved differently he would lose the blessing.  The spouse has to be not only converted but also from the same family of faith.

Isaac’s instructions to Jacob were similar to being biblical for which his son had to obey. Jacob knew that his success depended on his obedience.  Next he heard from his father the most beautiful blessings he had ever heard. That father declared that the Almighty would bless his son, making him fruitful and also multiplying his descendants to become a multitude of people. The significance of this was enough to make one dizzy.

As children of God in Christ we have the guarantee that the promises put forth in the Holy Scriptures are for us and that with and through them we will be everything that the Lord has promised.  We must not allow fear to overshadow us because what the Most High planned for us will be.  Examine how you lead your life, flee from sin and everything that comes from the devil.  Be a servant faithful and strong in faith and ready to carry out the divine plan.

The Bible affirms that if we are faithful unto death we will have the crown of life. (Revelation 2:10)  This means that nothing can take us away from our God’s hands.  Jesus promised that He would not cast away those that came to Him (John 6:37). Therefore, rest in the promise of the Lord and never let anyone or anything draw you away from divine presence because God is the One who keeps you.

Isaac said that God would give him Abraham’s blessing. As for us we have Jesus’s blessing, which we must never forget. If temptation has been strong, do not look at it but look yes at the One who said he would never leave or abandon you. We are a closed garden of the Lord (Isaiah 58:11) and absolutely nothing that the devil can throw at us will be able to remove us from our privileged position in the Lord. Stay firm, vigilant and in prayer and God will be with you.

The blessing extends to your seed.  Jacob had possession of the lands where he journeyed, which the Most High had given to Abraham.  Our land is spiritual and relates to the promises of the Holy Book; so never be taken by the enemy’s lies or even look at his offers. Your futures will be glorious, so do not lend yourself to sin.

In Christ, with Love,

God of the New Covenant! You were faithful to the Israelites, because they were heirs to Abraham.  To this day they are prosperous, but it is sad to know that they are blind, for they do not accept Jesus as the Savior. Mercy!

Jacob heard his father’s orders and took them to heart. Believing in those words he could do his part in the covenant You established with Abraham.  You keep Your promises.  You shine us Your light and call us to Truth!

Great is our inheritance in Christ and if we believe in Your Word, we will have from You all that the prophets had spoken accepting Your Son in faith. Thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit, the Seal of the promise.  We do love You!
