17/09/2011 - THE GREAT SALVATION IS THE SECRET

How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

Hebrews 2:3

The spiritual reality is very different from the material one because in the former there is no deception or illusion as long as we put our faith in Jesus, believing in His Word and obeying it. We must not seek those religions created by men because apart from Christ there is no other means for mankind to be delivered from eternal damnation.

There is a very precise line drawn between good and evil: for us to be able to abandon our sinfulness and reach salvation, our Heavenly Father had to pay a high price by giving His own Son to die in our place (John 3:16). Without such high payment, which cost the suffering and the death of Jesus, we would not be able to be redeemed from the fall and its resulting eternal doom; therefore we would never be free from temptation and from all other evils.

Outside the Gospel there is no salvation and that is the reason why we need to believe in the Good News in order to be delivered by the divine power. When we make this decision, we are doing more than just mentally agreeing: we are agreeing wholeheartedly, which makes all the difference. Those who trifle with sin do not know how close to the abyss they are in. Actually, those who believe that they can remain in that situation and that they will manage to be saved in the future are deceiving themselves. The seriousness of God will not allow he who is not clothed with the clothes of salvation to remain in the Heavens.

Furthermore, no one will be saved for fulfilling religious practices either. Jesus, by the way, was the first One to tell us to believe in the Gospel (Mark 1:15). However, those who despise that free gift that the Heavens offer us will not experience the blessed work of salvation – neither in this life nor in the hereafter. The only thing we know for sure is that we must believe in The One that has never told a lie (Numbers 23:19).

Those who believe will never go through the unfortunate experience of being put to the left of Jesus on the great Day. Now, those who do not pay heed to the Word of the Lord will hear the harshest of all sentences: they will be commanded to march towards the lake which will burn forever with fire and brimstone (Matthew 25:31-46).

After the death of Christ, His disciples went everywhere preaching The Message that the world needed to hear. The success they had when they fulfilled the Master’s commandment confirms the commitment made by the Lord: to save all those who draw near Him through His Son.

You might have fallen for a sin and for that reason you feel you are away from God, but if you confess your error now and repent, He is faithful to forgive you (I John 1:9). The success provided by your faith will make you enjoy the blessings bought by Jesus. When they see your victory over evil, many people will believe in the Message of the cross. So, do strive to be victorious in the Gospel for besides making the Lord’s heart rejoice, you will also help several people find the way to everlasting happiness.
