…giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

Colossians 1:12

It is good to render thanks to the Father whose love towards us was so great that we lack words to describe it. This divine feeling is thus defined by the Bible: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

He who feels no urge of praising the Lord for what He did for us has certainly not proved the salvation He offers. The verse we are studying states that God has qualified us to be partakers of Christ’s work, which includes everything we need to accomplish ourselves in the hereafter and also here on earth.

With Adam’s fall man lost both the authority entrusted to him and the connection with the Creator, thus becoming a slave of passions and sin. Then the devil started to govern him, leading him into fulfilling his dirty purposes. However, with the new birth provided for the children of the Most High, we have become God’s heirs and we can enjoy all that our Father has for us (Titus 3:3-7).

Dear readers, we have an inheritance to receive and that should occupy our thoughts. It is no small thing! God provided us with everything we need to be victorious in every way (Romans 8:37). We cannot allow the enemy to attack us, steal from us and make us suffer. Rather, we must take over the authority we have in the name of Jesus and expel from our lives everything that belongs to the devil.

There is one thing, however, we must not forget: our participation in the divine inheritance will be in the Light, in the revelation of God\’s Word. In order for us to be blessed, we just have to believe in what the Scriptures say about us without allowing Satan to keep us from enjoying the work done in benefit of the saved ones.

No matter what lesson you learn from the Gospel, – whether it is a reprimand, a promise or the declaration of a fact – it is applicable to your life. Therefore you have to claim what the Bible tells you and take possession of what belongs to you. The secret is to put your faith in what the Bible teaches because those who believe will see the glory of God (John 11:40).

Another important fact is that once the Good News is revealed to the hearts of those who believe, they are automatically set free from the evil claws. And because they listened to the Lord, their “record is clean” and then there is no more condemnation to them (Romans 8.1). He who is in Christ is justified from his sins and becomes a new creature (II Corinthians 5:17). So be strong, fearless, and believe what God tells you, because that is how your problems will go away.
