For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
Hebrews 4:2
The Lord Jesus commissioned each and every person who believes in Him as His witness. Thus, we must do His will at all times. No matter where we are or what we do – whether at home, on the street, at school, at the market, at the doctor’s, etc. – we must speak of the divine love. But it should be done with wisdom. God will turn wise those who choose to comply with Christ’s order, which is to go all over the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).
Christians have an obligation to preach the Good News. If we cross our arms, millions of people will perish and we will be held accountable. God did not command us to build a church and embellish it to the point of being considered the most beautiful church in town. Church leaders need to remember that they will account for every penny destined to the work of God. It is not right to swap what He ordered us to do for what we think to be the right thing to do. We must teach people to mix what is ministered to them with faith.
The message that the Jews heard from Jesus could have solved their problems completely, but they declined to mix what they had heard with faith. Take it as an example and do not fall into the same mistake. The divine answer to those who commit this error is the same the Lord gave to the children of Israel. Failing to add to faith what you learn from the Word of God will cause the same divine sentence to befall you.
The result of this heedlessness was that the Hebrews spent 40 years wandering around the same place, when in fact they should be enjoying the delights of the Promised Land. How many Christians go from hospital to hospital seeking solution to their problems? How many are always borrowing money or begging the favor of friends? In doing so, the promise of Deuteronomy 28:12 (\”You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.\”) will never become a reality.
Examine how much time you wasted on your journey with the Lord due to the fact that you are not mixing the Good News with faith. If you continue acting this way, you will keep on getting the same results. My brethren, you must experience a transformation in your life. Mix the revelation of God with faith and see how your life will change. God will fulfill His Word if His terms are met.
Undoubtedly, as days went by it must have dawned on those Jews that the incredulous attitude they had was not worth it. Today, you have the opportunity to examine yourself and mix what God speaks to you with the faith He has given you.
