Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord
II Corinthians 2:12
He who is guided by the Lord never gets to the wrong place. So regardless of any danger ahead, if you trust in Christ you will always be successful in all the missions entrusted to you. On the other hand, those who decide for themselves what to do instead of following the guidance of the Almighty will never have the privilege of having the Lord guiding their every step. As a result, they will always stumble along the way, while missing opportunities and walking in God’s opposite direction.
Everywhere we go we have to take the chance to preach the Gospel. We, the servants of God, must understand that even in our leisure time, the Lord leads someone to cross our path so that this person can receive His Word. After all, why was Jesus wearied from His journey to the point of sitting down by Jacob’s well while the disciples were away buying food (John 4:1-18)? To bless a life! Something like this can happen to us: a \”Samaritan\” might come in our direction.
In all situations, we must preach the Gospel of Christ, without a murmur and without failing to speak of what we have learned from the Lord, because someone may need to hear the word that transforms. We must deliver God’s message even among our brothers and sisters in Christ with wisdom, without being pedantic, because in so doing we will be acting as true servants at all times. Whether at a social gathering in which we celebrate something, or even at some business meeting, we should always allot some time for the Lord to do His work through us. What matters is to preach the Gospel!
In the passage above the apostle Paul spoke of something very important: he said a door had been opened to him by the Lord. So be on the alert so as not to miss the opportunities that will be presented to you. Note that when the Lord opens a door, He does not open it some place else, but rather in Him. Also, be aware of the fact that a door open in the Word of God cannot be closed. It means that the understanding received through the Scriptures will never be taken away from you and once you have it you can enter, get what you want – or plant the seed that the Lord told you to sow – and get out without any pain being added to you. By using the vision God gives you, success is inevitable.
Do not waste the blessings that the Almighty offers. When there is plenty of revelation we may be tempted to despise some of them thinking that others will come easily. However, the Word tells us to sow our seed in the morning and in the evening we should not withhold our hand because we do not know which will prosper (Ecclesiastes 11:6). Remember: Jesus commanded us to gather up the fragments that remain of bread and fish (John 6:12). Therefore, do not discard any divine revelation, for each and every one of them is a seed that will produce a great harvest. Be a servant at all times!
