“My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” (Psalm 84:2)
One of the signs that indicate we are saved is the longing we feel for God’s presence. By the way, those who do not seek the Lord and do not feel pleasure in worshiping Him need to examine themselves to see if they remain saved or not. In those who were born again there is a profound and endless desire to be next to the Most High. So, if the world still draws your attention, if a worldly song still stirs you up or if you have the desire to, for instance, go to parties where the Name of the Lord is not glorified or if you like to watch TV shows that amuse the non-converted, you must urgently seek God’s help because you are probably away from the Kingdom of Heavens.
When everything is all right between God and us we feel pleasure in spending hours praying and worshiping Him and we do our best to have those moments with our Father. For the saved ones, reading the Bible is something pleasant – as well as hearing about Jesus; spreading the love of God is something that moves them. We can do many good things but, undoubtedly, the best of all is to be in communion with the Most High. If, by any chance, someone is not interested in the divine matters, it means they are very far from the Father. But it is not good for a man to find himself in this situation because he becomes bitter, mean and is an easy prey for the temptations of the enemy.
My brother, do not stop seeking true communion with the Lord because without fellowship with Him, people start to pay attention to what they shouldn’t; they heed the enemy’s voice and take it mistakenly for the Good Shepherd’s. When we are connected to our God we can overcome any evil attacks, but once we are disconnected, we become susceptible to all kinds of error. We can only walk hand in hand with the Almighty if both parts are in agreement.
The truth is that everything about us must be in communion with the Holy Word and the best of life happens when we long to stay by
the Lord to exalt Him. So, we only have to open our mouth and pray for Him to answer us and to hold us in His arms. When we are away from our God we cannot see clearly, we cannot please Him and we do not behave the way we should. Consequently, we will be deemed bad and reckless servants. But, if we are walk hand in hand with the Most High, we will be rewarded.
Our life on Earth is very fleeting. We have hardly begun enjoying it and after a few experiences we are already getting old and walking towards eternity. Therefore, the best thing to do is to spend our days preparing ourselves spiritually and fulfilling the divine ordinances because with the Almighty God in our lives we will be undoubtedly blessed people.
