If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:1

To believe is an individual act which each one of us will be accountable for sooner or later. If we believe in what God teaches us we will be rewarded. Now, those who believe in the blessings stated in the Scriptures can assume them at once for they have already been destined to them. The revelation put into our hearts by The Holy Spirit is the sign for us to take possession of them. As soon as we read the Bible or listen to a message we get the green light to determine that to be so, and that will indeed be so.

In the Scriptures there are thousands of promises. When we understand that one or some or many of them belong to us and, with faith and determination, we go for them, they begin taking part in our lives. If we learn that this or that promise belongs to us, but we do not assume it as so, the revelation becomes pointless, and on account of our disbelief that revelation loses its effect altogether. You must know that those who keep being sceptical as regards to what is shown to them will have to be accountable for on The Great Day.

The words of God to us belong to His plan for our lives and for the society generally speaking. The miracle we’ve received, apart from doing well to us, can open up someone else’s eyes into believing in Him. However, someone might miss out on the miracle we’re despising at this moment. Now, if due to missing it they will not get converted, we will be accountable for their doom. In all senses we’d better believe, isn’t that so?

Christ was raised for our justification in order for us to be made innocent of the sin committed by Adam, but it’s up to each one of us to believe and to take possession of what The Son of God did. Those who turn a blind eye to that fact, by all means, end up losing the inherent blessing of that revelation. If a sick person does not come to the conclusion that – through the stripes suffered by Jesus – they are already healed, the divine healing will not be manifested in their life. And the same goes for those who do not give tithes or any offerings. Those who do not hand back the tithes to the Lord – or do not give any offerings they’d thought in their hearts should be giving – are under a curse for they are robbing God Himself.

For those who do not believe in what The Most High states the worst harmful act is that, by doing so, they’re addressing Him as a liar. What a responsibility weighs upon all those who stop believing in the Lord! Look at someone who’s enjoying their comfortable and prosperous life, someone who’s well-successful in everything. If they get an insight of The Word of God on a certain issue and, as they feel they don’t need it and they don’t assume it, one day, they’ll be before God and be accountable for what they did or what they failed to do, apart from having to face a huge accusation for their disbelief or for not fulfilling what had been revealed to them at the end of the day.

We have to go for those things that come from Above, those things promised in The Word of God. These blessings are in the same place where our Saviour is seated now. Without them we will not be glorifying The Lord the way we should and, by doing so, “we’ll be in the red”.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
