And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

Mark 4:15

Those who do not get involved with the Lord with all their heart commit a grave mistake because standing by the wayside – as opposed to being on the Way – leads to great losses. Although the Word of God has been sown in the hearts of these people, nothing will help them because the evil one will come and possess them. My brethren, Jesus compared such damage to a seed sown by the wayside where the land is useless for cultivation, because those who pass by end up treading on it, which makes it hard and lacking the necessary nutrients for it to grow and produce its fruit.

The Way is Jesus (John 14:6). This means that the divine revelation – that helps the entire congregation to rise up in faith and take possession of their blessing – will not be able to do much to those who attend the church services but are not in Christ. The Sower – that is, the Holy Spirit – sows the seed in the right place, which is the heart; however, if the heart does not present the necessary conditions, then the devil comes and harvest what was planted in it. The result can always be seen in our congregations: people who never do good deeds, who do not thrive and will never bear fruit for the Kingdom of God. 

Some think they have been rejected, but it is actually them who do reject the divine advice. Only those who receive Jesus as Savior can acquire the power to become children of God; the others are deceiving themselves altogether. Those who seek divine guidance and do what it takes to carry it out are those who will become fruitful in faith. However, there is no magic in the work of the Lord:  if someone does not truly serve Him, he will not receive what rightfully belongs to him. It is sad, but true. 

The Most High would not say so if that was not true – and it explains exactly why many people are always attending God\’s house but are not out of suffering. All bad things happen to such people. The sad thing is that their heart is always closed and they never learn to respect the Lord. But he who truly wants to overcome will see that it is not complicated. Winners in faith are people who have learned how to serve God; that is why the enemy cannot defeat them. Unfortunately, in the divine work, there are many individuals with preconceived ideas; they are the know-it-alls, but they can never get rid of the onslaughts of the evil one.

It is possible to avoid being compared to such kind of people. The devil, who is relentless in his mission of stealing, killing and destroying (John 10:10a), will do anything for you not to achieve what the Almighty has planned for your life. Without your success, the world will be sadder and people will suffer even more, so make the decision to be a good ground on which the blessed seed will find the necessary conditions to produce what the Lord wants. The Sower never makes mistakes; He sows the seed in your heart and if it does not germinate, the fault will be yours.
