28/05/2012 - A servant of God is never taken by surprise

So he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.” And it was told him, saying, “Surely he is in Dothan.\”

People who do not serve The Lord are used to making childish decisions. What is the point of having a man of God arrested? The Most High who used him in that way would carry on doing so as many times as necessary. The servants of The Lord will never fall unless that is part of the divine purpose. Well, God keeps His children safe and sound indeed! That is the reason why none of them is to fear the decisions of those that pay no respect to The Almighty.

The king of Syria was tired of seeing his plans being aborted and his soldiers being taken by surprised. My brother, it will always be that way with those who are rebellious, those who do not give God His due place in their lives. Seeking assistance from anybody else is like flogging a dead horse considering that there is neither other foundation nor anybody else who can save us; only The Lord our God!

Our Father, even today, can use His servants just the way He did to Prophet Elisha and others who were determined to fulfil His will. The biblical examples were not reported for us to praise those who let themselves be used by The Lord, but for us to know that The God who used them is our very God and, precisely for that reason, whenever it is necessary, we will also be greatly used for His glory.

If only there were more dedicated servants to The Word and to prayer the divine work would spread out faster. Another error of those who begin being used by The Lord is trying to take advantage of the anointing for their own good. I cannot see the point why somebody who is called up to fulfil the divine ministry has to enter politics! Why would some give all their ownership to participate in the Brazilian Academy of Arts and Letters, and other secular institutions or they would even get to the point of paying a great deal of money, to get their dirty hands on a College graduation certificate?

Those scandals announced nowadays are the result of lives that do not watch out. The devil is our adversary and he is walking about like a roaring lion seeking someone he may devour (I Peter 5: 8). The sad side of this story is that he has been devouring many people who ought to have been shining with the divine light, but they find themselves deep down in muddy waters on account of flesh sins and treacherous activities. And the worst is that many of them do not wake up.

You can be sure of one thing: the devil wants to drive you out of the presence of God and he wants to make you lose your salvation. Have no doubt that hellish desires are being fulfilled through demons because they are the ones engaged in tempting you all the time. The secret is to fear The Lord and to keep an eye wide open not to give in to temptation (Mark 14:38).

The king did not foresee that Elisha would also be aware of his next decision. It is true that those people who are not guided by God are capable of making immature decisions. Undoubtedly, The Most High would reveal to the prophet the king’s next plans. Therefore, those who live in the presence of The Lord will never be taken by surprise.
