Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”

Exodus 6.1

God had run out of patience with Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. This servant of evil had oppressed the Israelites for years. In addition, he broke the promise made to Joseph by the Pharaoh’s ancestors when Joseph helped preserve that country from the famine. However, God witnesses every promise made to those who belong to him; in addition, vows – whether wedding or friendship vows – are sacred and must never be broken.

God moved into action to deliver the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob from the hands of Pharaoh. The Lord had made a Covenant with their parents, saying that he would be an enemy to their enemies (Exodus 23.22). In other words, the Lord would “make them pay the price”, demanding payment for all acts of injustice committed against the descendants of his servants. He would stretch out his hand and show how dangerous it is to mess around with a person under the Covenant’s protection.

I pity any person on whom God decides to exercise his justice! Without any doubt, many times, the heavenly Father had given Pharaoh the opportunity to turn away from evil, but, since he did not repent, he had to pay the price. Beware! If you have done anything against a servant of the Lord, you are in a bad spot, and your trial could begin any time now.

God sees the evil deeds that people carry out against his servants. He gives them time to repent, but many people, due to God’s patience and mercy, believe that the Lord is not what he promises to be. Nevertheless, one day the judgment of God will fall upon them, and they will have no escape. When the Most High starts acting, no one is able to stop him, because, when his patience runs out, his wrath comes into action.

Those who abuse servants of the Lord by oppressing them, or doing any evil to them, must get ready to face punishment, which will come sooner or later. God will avenge all evil deeds against his servants, from the blood of Abel to the smallest acts (Luke 11.49-51). Instead of hiding behind a title, be wise and repent; come before the person whom you done harm and ask for forgiveness, because the Lord hears the cry of those who seek him day and night.

The Most High declared that Pharaoh would let his people go, drive them out of his land himself. Do not play games with the Lord. He forbade others from touching the glory and honor of those whom he anointed. Who can stand against God? Go to the person whom you offended and make things right, otherwise God, in his justice, will avenge him.

In Christ, with love,
