11/05/2012 - A tough treatment from The Lord

For the LORD has poured out on you The spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.

Isaiah 29:10

All those who love God do not go unnoticed in His eyes because He assures they will be loved; consecrating one’s life to The Lord is not hard. Those who do that find out that putting into practice The Word of God is something very profitable indeed.

Those who are obedient become winners in all senses once their eyes will neither be covered up nor the ears of The Lord will ever be shut to their outcry. Now those who despise the divine commandments may be certain that they are to expect the same treatment they give to the Most High. How sad! Someone who turns away from the Love of their Creator is going to become the very destination address of the enemy’s evil and torment. Those who do not strive to fulfil the divine plan do not know that such an effort – the one they refused to make – will become much greater now; so, things would be distinct if only they had fulfilled the order of God in the first place!

The children of Israel were only concerned about their daily routine; and their desires of flesh; their material prosperity and, for that reason, they found themselves in great trouble. Today, the same happens to those who, although being aware of the commandment of God, bluntly refuse to fulfil them. Many Christians live a quite miserable life, a life with all sorts of problems and they will never be delivered from them on account of their being disobedient to the divine counselling.

Those who consider themselves to belong to God but do not give Him the place He deserves, as The Lord of their lives, go through much more suffering since there are no excuses for them not to fulfil His ordinances. The Bible is filled up with examples of people who did not look out, people who took wrong attitudes, and precisely for that they ended up paying too high a price. Those who fulfil the Eternal Word have the loyalty of God available; God, The One who never lies nor He changes His mind on His promises.

The Israelites fell into a deep sleep and, by doing so their eyes – those of the Prophets’ – could not see what they ought to have seen. The same error happens to many assemblies across the world. Those churches members are worshiping prosperity rather than The One who grants prosperity, and healing instead of The God who heals. Their prophets do not get any guidance from The Lord any longer.

In those days, the wisest on spiritual matters had their eyes covered up. That is exactly what is going on with many churches today. All those who belong to The Lord – but they sadly despise His commandments – cause others who ought to see the revelations from The Heavens to act as though they were blind. People get corrupted where there is no prophet (Proverbs 29: 18).

The spiritual numbness of the Israelites led them into great suffering. We are no better than them. If we take such reckless attitudes we are bound to get the same treatment in exchange. God will not take as innocent those who let themselves be carried away by the devil. A wise man fulfils the commandments and, thus, the love of God is improved in him.
