As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me.

Psalm 55:16

At the beginning of this psalm, David complains about the wickedness of man – who from that time until the present day has practically not improved in anything. Today, many have still been used by the enemy to inflict on others all kinds of suffering.

Without a doubt, it is selfishness – besides other evils – that makes someone betray the other. Without any consideration for the suffering that the betrayed party will feel, some people get carried away by the demon of infidelity and, later on they end up feeling miserable but out of shame of their act or even out of evil, they do not confess their wrongdoing. As a matter of fact, anyone who does such a thing does not really love his spouse or even himself; after all, he who keeps hiding his sin will not be admitted into God’s kingdom. Well, he who had the guts to betray should be equally brave to confess his transgression and no longer do it.

David complained that he had been betrayed by his close friend. Many have received this kind of blow. How can a person in whom we place all our trust – and who even professes to believe in God – let him or herself be used by the devil under the influence of an unworthy motive? Now, the secret to not be an evil tool that spreads hatred or any feeling of revenge is to pray to the Lord.

We must be careful with the devil because he makes people act deceitfully and then he keeps pounding on our heads the harm these people caused so that we begin to hate them. Let us not be contaminated by such an evil feeling! One of the secrets to be victorious is to always act in accordance with the Scriptures, because the Lord loves those who respect His Word (John 14:21).

In his pain, the psalmist’s eyes were open and he saw the only solution to that problem: the Word of God. He made the right decision by declaring that he would call on the name of the Lord. My brother, if you are in a similar situation do the same thing: invoke the Most High, for in doing so you will be striking an effective blow to the plans concocted by Satan, you will be rewarded and the divine justice will be working in your favor.

The faith that David had was the assurance that the Almighty would save him. With you, or with anyone else, it can be the same: He will reward those who obey Him, giving them strength to endure any mishaps in their lives.

The Father\’s heart grieves with both the selfish attitude of those who get carried away by the demon of treason and those who you let the spirit of hatred dominate their soul. However, because God is merciful He will hear you, provided you repent of your error and seek the Almighty with faith. So whether you have been a cheater or cheated on by someone, enter now into the Lord’s presence and pray to the Lord in an effective way. Be truthful and ask for His grace so that you can get rid of your sins.

In Christ with love,
