Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

Calling the Lord “the God of hope” is giving Him an accurate qualification. He had a plan for mankind but with Adam’s fall that plan was frustrated – at least according to our point of view. However, because God is full of hope, He worked out a plan to rescue each one of us. At the Calvary, He put His vision into practice: He provided salvation to the human race. Besides being delivered from the consequences of their fall, those who receive Jesus as their Savior become true people of God, confirming the hope of the Lord.
As a Father, the Most High wants to fill us up with joy and accomplishment. You can become a wealthy and famous person who is admired by everybody, but nothing of that will bring you more satisfaction than becoming what the Lord has prepared for your life. You will only be fully accomplished if you do what He has told you through the Word. From that point on, the revelation will be fulfilled to the letter. When you take possession of what He has for you, more things will be shown to you and then your faith and sense of achievement will grow.
The Lord also fills us with peace. This word defines everything we really need to get rid of our problems whether they are diseases, tribulations, financial or family problems, etc. The solution given to us by the Lord is complete and all-encompassing. Once we have received it, we can rest assured that nobody will ever be able to take that blessing from us. The healing of the Lord is different from what men produce; it cannot be removed from us unless we let it happen.
In all situations we want the Lord to operate in our favor, but for that to happen we must believe. Disbelief renders the promises of God ineffective in the lives of those that do not believe and do not take possession of what the Lord gives them. When we believe we put the power of God in action. You might like the Lord; you might wish His
operation to be carried out and you might even pray and wait for the answer. However, if you do not put your trust in the Lord, the work will not be carried out.
My brethren, the divine plan for your life is that you abound in hope. Nothing from God is given to us with scarcity; everything comes abundantly. Even with man’s fall the Lord did not lose hope that you would take your position in the spiritual world which, by the way, is of great importance. You must also have the same share; therefore your dreams cannot be limited.
The virtue that came upon your life when you were baptized in the Holy Spirit has the power to make you think God’s thoughts and they will bring you to the fullest accomplishment in your walk with Jesus along the journey of life.
In Christ, with love,

25/11/2010 - ABOUNDING IN HOPE

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

The Lord is God of hope. As a true Father, He waits for the return of the prodigal son who is wasting his life, his strength and his time in the futilities of this world. Since the Almighty never gives up and neither does He ever give in, He longs for His children to return home, seek His help and escape the treacherous snares of sin.

God wants everyone to understand that the most important is to seek and to save the ones who are lost because there is no point in earning fortunes, being applauded and living a life of opulence if perdition is what awaits them in eternity (Mark 8:36). Hopeful, the Lord does everything for everyone to understand the value of walking with Him and being His.

Having some hope is good, but abounding in it is better. The Lord\’s desire is that we abound in hope because He knows what good it will do to us. The human soul needs to be enveloped by this virtue because without it the days become bad, but with it we do not even feel the evil that comes to take us from God\’s presence and to disturb our peace of mind. If we abound in hope, no plan of the devil, no matter how elaborate, will succeed.

The power of a heart full of hope is great, that is why He teaches us the steps we must take for our hearts to be filled of this blessed virtue that dwells in His heart. God is not speaking of a normal hope because those who are in error have some hope. He refers to that hope which fills His own heart. With it, the days are brighter, friends come up and opportunities present themselves to us, we become happy with a cheerful countenance. However, without any hope we become rough, stingy, coming to point of fighting over petty things. Man without hope is frustrated, selfish and with no natural affection, bearing little difference from the wild animals, after all it is the divine hope that makes us gentle and kind.

In order for us to have this excellent clothing of hope, it is necessary to be filled with joy and peace. To this end, we must believe. With these two elements, we obtain the virtue of the Holy Spirit, which will make our hearts abound in hope. However, this pouring over is not automatic. In the beginning, the Holy Spirit hovered over the waters as a chicken protecting her eggs which, after some time, hatch and the babies are born. Likewise, if you have no condemnation, and have a pure and cheerful heart, the virtue of the Lord will work in your life.

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
