Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.
John 7:24
We need to pay attention to everything we do because all the decisions we make or words we say will be taken into account in our judgment. So, when confronted with any injustice we may get upset and even angry but soon afterwards we must take away anger from our hearts.
When we fall victim to a lie, a desire for revenge or any other bad feeling might cross our minds. Up to this point we have not sinned because we know that it is not a sin to be tempted – after all, Jesus himself was face to face with temptation but He did not give in to it (Matthew 4). However, when we yield to temptation we commit an act we will account for. For this reason, it is always advisable to ponder carefully before taking any action, because if it is not pursuant to what the Word of God declares to us, we will bring harm to ourselves.
The Lord tells us not to judge according to appearance. All evidence may point to a certain person as being supposedly guilty, but because we have the Spirit of God, we know who is actually behind all things. That same Spirit teaches us that the devil is the one who incites people to do us wrong and then leads us to hate those who wronged us and to make justice with our own hands.
Now, the righteous justice is the revelation the Lord gives us to read, meditate upon and hear through His Word. So whenever you are faced with a problem and need to make a decision, refer to the Scriptures: your understanding will be like hearing the voice of God.
The righteous judgment never swerves. When, for example, David had an illicit relationship with Bathsheba, the Lord did not pretend He did not see his sin. David was the king of Israel, a man after God\’s heart, nevertheless the Most High showed him that he was wrong (II Samuel 11-12). Today our Father still acts the same way, and he who does not want to be embarrassed must flee from error because those who fall into transgression will pay a high price for it. So, my brethren, be careful not to feel you are special because due to harboring this feeling many have made mistakes and today they are swamped with bitter memories.
It is best to never yield to proposals from hell. By agreeing with the divine justice we will not stumble in any of our actions. If you have had sinful desires, you must go urgently to the Father in prayer and confess that you have not been able to resist temptation. Ask Him to forgive you and to not allow evil to continue dwelling in your mind. Because God truly loves us, He will never fail and neither will He allow any of His children to fall.
It is easy to live free from any influence of the enemy: all you have to do is to respect the Lord whose Word takes over the place left by Jesus when He ascended to Heaven. Therefore, under any circumstances, stand firm on what is written therein, for the revelation of the Lord is the righteous justice!
