And they withstood King Uzziah, and said to him, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed! You shall have no honor from the LORD God.”     2 Chronicles 26.18

Uzziah, the victorious king of so many wars, did not expect this resistance. He thought that everyone had him as the most important leader of God’s people of the last times, thus he could transgress the commandment without anyone stopping him. However, those who make themselves reprehensible will find that the Lord has under His care many who have not bowed their knees before idols: Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him (1 Kings 19.18). Believe!

The argument used by the priests was correct, because it was based on the Word. It states that all the activities in the sanctuary were given to Aaron and his sons: The appointed duty of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is the oil for the light, the sweet incense, the daily grain offering, the anointing oil, the oversight of all the tabernacle, of all that is in it, with the sanctuary and its furnishings (Numbers 4.16). Never disregard the Bible’s instructions!

It doesn’t matter who you are or believe you are; if something belongs to someone else’s mission, let them do it. At the very least, this will be a praise that you will give to God; after all, He has not called you to such a work. Always be in the place ordained by the Most High. Pastors should not plead politics, for they have been placed on the Lord’s altar. Why exchange the best for that which is infinitely worse? Pray and live!

It may seem small, but the work that the Most High assigns to someone is of great glory, because only that individual has the responsibility of accomplishing it. So, dedicate yourself with all your heart to the task given to you: And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment (Mark 12.30). Believe, praise and execute the mission!

The priests were harsh with the king when they said, Come out of the sanctuary, for you have transgressed. They spoke the pure truth, for that mission had been given to Aaron’s sons, Eleazar, in particular. Therefore, when he tried to burn incense in the sanctuary, Uzziah made himself guilty. This mistake was premeditated, for he knew the divine law. If, by chance, he had done it innocently, he should have asked for forgiveness and suffered the expected punishment. He failed to fear God!

They continued to speak to the king, And it shall not be to your honor from the Lord God. For having transgressed the biblical precept, that leader was thrown out of the sanctuary, which shows the seriousness of divine affairs. That place was the model of Heaven, where transgressors will be left out. When Lucifer transgressed against God, the angels faithful to the Lord drove out the rebel and the angels who joined him (Revelation 12.4).

What a tough decision the priests made! However, anyone who makes himself a transgressor of God’s law must leave His house, or they will suffer a more serious penalty. Mercy!

In Christ, with love,

God who honors us! When You gave the task of king of Judah to Uzziah, he had Your help to be the shepherd of Your people, but when he decided to be that which was not given to him, he was driven out of the temple for his own good. Beloved Father, take care of us!

We must be bold in faith, but never disrespectful towards Your Word and Your commands. We want to fulfill with our heart and soul the mission entrusted to us. Now, without listening to You, we cannot put our hands into Your harvest, for it will be dishonorable to us.

Let us leave to the priests the work intended for them! It is up to us to carry out what You have commanded. In the end, all will agree that You were wise to use us and give us the wisdom to carry out Your will. We are grateful to You!
