But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Matthew 5:28

It is important to find the cause of our falls. As a matter of fact, it is always one’s disregard towards the Word that leads one to fall. So if unpleasant facts have happened in your life, examine yourself carefully and see if you have done what God tells you, otherwise you will suffer many defeats. Open up your heart, confess your sin and ask for deliverance. In so doing, the Spirit of the Lord will lead you into finding the Word that will deliver you.

Deliverance is only possible with the knowledge of the truth (John 8:32). Jesus did not warn us at random, after all the Bible says that sin lies at the door (Genesis 4:7b). The devil is serious about what he does and he goes to any length to get us out of God’s presence in order to prevent us from fulfilling our mission of serving the Lord in holiness (I Thessalonians 4:3-7). Therefore, he who does not keep an eye out falls into temptations and then suffers terribly because once he is outside the divine presence the arrow of the destroyer eventually hits him.

Therefore, at all times, be on guard so as not to defile yourself with the delicacies of the “kings” of the Earth. Satan may, for example, try to make you have desire for someone other than your spouse. If you succumb to such a suggestion, you will automatically be considered an adulterer, failing to stand before the Father. As a result, your prayers will no longer be answered and by being unprotected, the enemy’s evil deeds will reach you.

In order to prevent this from happening, turn to the words of Jesus: Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation (Matthew 26:41a). Ask the Lord not to let you forget this serious warning; after all, without His help, you will fall into sin. Because He knows the danger we run, the Savior commanded us to watch and pray; he who does not accept this divine guidance is lacking judgment or has already sold himself to the enemy. So always be true and whenever you are tempted into yielding to sin, do not hide it from the Most High.

The Master said that whoever looks at someone to lust for him/her has already committed adultery. Now, to lust for someone is to have an intense or obsessive desire. When such desire arises in one’s heart and he/she does not do anything to shun it, he/she inevitably ends up sinning. Therefore, do not even remotely think of giving in to the devil’s offers and do not picture yourself with anyone who is not your spouse. Watch out! This is something serious that may even exclude you from the kingdom of God (I Corinthians 6:10).

Salvation is infinitely better than any forbidden pleasure. So if you feel attracted to whatever the evil one might have shown you, enter into prayer and keep on praying until you get it out of your heart, otherwise you will not rid yourself of this snare, which is one of the filthiest and most wicked. Besides, do not forget that the Word also reputes as adulterers and adulteresses those who have friendship with the world. This is enmity with God (James 4:4).

In Christ with love,
