 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death   Revelation 1.18

After reading that the Lord told John that He is the First and the Last, we come to the logical conclusion that we lack nothing. So why fear tomorrow if Christ is the beginning and the end of everything? Don’t be deceived by the evil one, but strengthen yourself in the faith of the Son of God, who came to Earth to deliver us from eternal condemnation and slavery in the region of darkness and make us the light of the world (1 Thessalonians 1.10; Colossians 1.13; Hebrews 2.14; Philippians 2.15). You must take your place in Jesus and reign in life!

The Creator made all things simple, and it is in this uncomplicated way that He conveys His message. Heaven’s greatest revelation comes in a way that is easy to understand, so that everyone can carry out the same works done by Him. The secret is to be in Christ, and His Words in us, as He declared: If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it will be done for you (John 15.7). With the Savior, we have something to claim!

Jesus said: I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. No one else could say that. He is Life, the only One who truly lives in the world, which was the house of death. With the Lord’s coming, light was born in the darkness, the impossible became possible, and the will of the evil one failed. Now, even the desires of our heart are fulfilled: You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing (Psalm 145.16). Everything is different with God!

Jesus explains that He was killed, which we knew in part, because as a member of the Holy Trinity, the question was: how? The Father gave His only Son to die in our place, taking us out of the region of darkness in such a perfect way that no one suffered anything. They arrested and condemned the Savior, but none of His group of disciples were killed either. Nor did anyone die in the deliverance of Israel from Egypt!

After His resurrection, Christ came with a glorified body, because He was the firstfruits from the dead, an example of the kind of body with which the dead in Christ will resurrect (1 Corinthians 15:20).  He no longer needed to claim to be accepted as the eternal God, because by completing the work, He earned the right to save those who come to the Father through Him (Hebrews 7:25). We must learn from God’s Word the lessons that will make us wise to minister salvation to the lost. Jesus is our Glory!

Christ guaranteed that, after the resurrection of the just, those who died saved by Him will come out of the grave first. As for the living, they will be transformed to dwell in Heaven and receive glorified bodies (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52). We are not poor wretches, but the chosen generation, the Lord’s own people (1 Peter 2:9,10). We will go to the best and incomparable Home. There will be no pain or demons there.

Jesus ends His short but important message by saying: And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. What more would He need to keep the devil from leaving whenever he wanted or doing whatever he wanted? Today, the enemy is defeated and will never raise his head again. Believe in Christ’s words and be blessed forever. God has already prepared everything to receive you!
