Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.
Joshua 21:45
God is known as the One who fulfils His promises. We know that the Most High already fulfilled, in Christ Jesus, all the promises that assure us our blessing and that what He has spoken to us will also be fulfilled. So, however hard the circumstance might seem, you must not let the enemy deceive you by saying that the Lord will not help you. Rest assured that God will fulfil what He has said about you.
The truth is that the Lord never changes (Malachi 3:6). Men and religions change; science evolves; and the seasons change but, in our dear Father and Creator there is no variation or shadow of turning (James 1:17). So bear this in mind every time you are tempted: The Lord takes pleasure in honoring His word and He promised that He would never leave you.
The good words of God are His promises for us. Even when the Lord said to the Israelites that the land they were in would be chastened, that was a good promise. Through that punishment the Father prepared them to come back to Him and thus avoid destruction. He does the same today. If you are under discipline, do not get angry or get out from under divine protection. The enemy wants you to rebel and to deny the Lord Jesus because in this way he will manage to take you to eternal doom.
Joshua stated that no word spoken by God failed to be fulfilled. In fact, the Most High fulfilled all the promises made to Israel – a nation that typified the Church of Christ – that is why we can claim what has been promised to us. All the promises fulfilled in the days of the Israelites also concern us. At this very moment, do not be shy, talk to the Lord in prayer and take possession of what is written in the Scriptures because God speaks through His Word. Believe in everything He says and in so doing you will be presented with the accomplishment of what our Father stated to be yours. We must be guided by the Word of God and not by our feelings, in this way we will please our Father and His power will materialize the things that have been promised to us.
The best part of it all is the fact that God will do whatever it takes to honor what His lips profess. With that trust we can enjoy a free and blessed life. Without it, what remains is a good and pleasant religious experience albeit without any fruit. You must remember that we were chosen to bear permanent fruits.
If we trust in the Lord and in what He says about us and we can use His Name to cast down all arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ – the Word of God – (II Corinthians 10:5), our life will never ever be a string of defeats, suffering and unfinished projects.
