Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand

Psalm 149:6

Apart from exalting in our glory, The Lord teaches us that His high praises must be in our mouth, ready to be lift up. As we do so, we will be entitled to enjoy many blessings indeed. God would not be teaching us anything that was not of uttermost importance to us. Those praises must be on our lips because at the moment of need we will hand them out and, thus, we will be rejoicing our Father.

The high praises of God is not to be made up of small and shallow thanksgiving, but rather deep. We have to hand Him these praises for all those things He has already done and for all those things He will do on our behalf. With wisdom we treasure those special praises for the great works we have already done or for those we will be doing.

The Word is a two-edged sword (Hebrews 4: 12) which we must always have in our hands. By utilising one of its edges we manage to rebuke the enemy as we get rid of its capacity to hurt us and, with its other edge we enter the presence of The Most High by offering Him our gratitude, as well as our faith. We will always be victorious with that sword.

We need to be prepared for the battles that will undoubtedly occur on our way. The opponent never gives up attacking us. Provided we are prepared we will know the best way to fight and, in doing so, we will not give the defeated one room to hit us with his treachery (Luke 10:19). On the other hand, if we are not ready we will not know what to do whenever we are assaulted.

The truth is that we were called up to fight the wars of The Lord and not to stand still with our arms crossed, hiding from the enemy. God is never taken by surprise, and that is the reason why He teaches us to put on the revelations given to us by Him in that they are our training. The devil may mock up his assaults the way he pleases, but his plans are terribly feeble before our Father. Whenever he puts himself in position to attack us the necessary training is already there, given to us by The Lord of the hosts.

Our willingness to fight must be known by everybody particularly the spiritual world. Those who confess that there is no way to face the devil are, at least, telling a lie. The Lord always enables His soldiers the best manner; therefore, you must never despise any revelation provided to you through The Scripture. On top of that, you are to stand firm and strong and not be carried away by what apparently seems to be true.

Obedience is to be one more factor on our behalf considering that those who despise the divine commandments prove that they do not really love Him and so they will not be loved by Him in exchange. Now those who obey The Lord will always be kept safe and sound by the mighty hand of our Father, they will be protected by Him. In Christ, we will be victorious because we will always have more than what we need.

In Christ, with love,
