31/08/2012 - ALWAYS DISCARD WHAT IS EVIL

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.

III John 1:11

From the very beginning of times there have been people who indulge in evil deeds. Unfortunately, however, many of them fail to realize the risk they run because on the Great Day they will be held accountable for each one of their actions. They’ll be judged by the Righteous Judge, the Lord Jesus, who is coming to reward each according to his works (Matthew 16:27). If you want to go through that judgement without condemnation start abiding by the directions provided by the Word of God and cleanse your heart from all evil.

Bad deeds should never serve as lessons to the people of God in that they are acts of rebellion against the divine will and those who practice them will face the wrath of the Lord. The selfish, who can only think of themselves, give a bad witness but such attitude must not be accepted nor tolerated by anybody. That is one of the worst temptations since it leads humans to miss out on the divine promise according to which “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

Evil doers will always face troubles. Nothing is worse than walking at night in pitch darkness. Those who know the right thing to do and don’t do it find themselves in this situation: in sheer spiritual darkness (James 4:17). However, the obedient children have the power to do good as long as they do not rebel against the divine ordinances.

The only example to be followed is that of Jesus, who was anointed to go around doing good. To this day God still anoints His children so that they also go everywhere doing the same deeds our Master did in His days. Read in the Gospel the teachings of Christ, His accomplishments and His ordinances and act in the same way. Our Savior’s steps should be followed because it is His will for all of us. His power enables us to assist those who do not know their rights in Christ.

There’s no doubt about the fact that he who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God – which means that even when an evil doer is a member of the best church, he is still a servant of Satan. Who have you been serving? Has The Holy Spirit been using your life or have you been an instrument in the hands of the enemy? It is not a good idea to trifle with serious issues because your salvation is at stake. So, watch out! God is only a Father to those who are His children!

I pity those who do not belong to God because their lives will always be troubled by evil spirits. It’s not only thieves, murderers and adulterous who do evil, but also those who know how to do good and yet don’t do it! They will never have peace; they will always be in trouble and will go through much suffering. After all, the divine protection cannot be upon those who act unfaithfully against the Divine Word.

The Scriptures are emphatic: those who do evil deeds have never seen the Lord God. As a matter of fact, it’s impossible to know the Almighty without feeling the inner drive to help people.

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
