“The first one to plead his cause seems right, until his neighbor comes and examines him.” (Proverbs 18:17)

The best way to start pleading one’s cause is to lay everything in the Lord’s hands. The children of God must learn to take to Him all the threats, contentions and injustice that they’re suffering and then wait on Him. They’ll undoubtedly see how the Most High works if they do that. For example: a huge amount of money has been spent by the people of God to hire lawyers, but that wouldn’t be necessary if they submitted themselves to the commandments that they learned while listening to a message of the Word or reading IT.

When someone starts pleading their cause it seems they’re righteous, it seems they’ve got a right there; yet, the other side comes up and examines them. Had they taken their cause to the Lord, they would have received His best guidance. I’ve seen that happening in marriages which have dissolved due to lack of counselling. In these cases, one of the parties was usually unfaithful and then the other one asked for a divorce. It dawns on the harmed spouse, with time, that he or she was about to commit adultery at times as well, but that wasn’t consummated only because of the mercy of God which prevented him or her to carry on. Later on, matured and recovered from the bad news, now the one who was betrayed came to the conclusion that it was too late to forgive and to accept his or her spouse back because he or she had already established a new family.

There are other causes for divorce, but the Bible only authorizes divorce in case of infidelity. I want to point out that failing to take those issues to the Most High has made many people to make hasty decisions causing harm to the parties involved.

My brethren, if someone has a plea against your life, the best decision to make is to calm down and take it before the Lord who’s the best Counsellor because He knows all things even before they happen. You’ll only have to go through the grounds on which your opponent stands and you’ll be qualified to work out your defence as you seek the Heavenly guidance. Yet, suppose you’re the guilty party; it’s useless to resort to lies to try to receive “justice” in your favor because truth will surely come up on the Judgment Day. You’d better get your issues solved here rather than postpone it for the day when there’ll be no way out.

So, turn to God in prayer and ask Him for help if the enemy’s accusing you of errors you might’ve committed before being born again. And pay heed to the Word of the Most High through messages being preached at church and also by reading the Bible. The lessons you’ll learn with our Heavenly Father will be the most powerful weapon to deal with any evil assaults because the devil’s strategies against those who serve our Creator will never succeed. So examine your opponent’s basis and face him with the revelation of the Word. Remember that the Lord does justice in favor of those who seek Him!

In Christ, with love,
