The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand… Deuteronomy 28.49

Today’s technological development was foreseen before the creation of all things, and we can expect more surprising developments. We cannot understand why nations arm themselves to the teeth with the excuse of confronting their opponents. For example, no one is moved by those who die in their early youth, nor by those who are injured because of mines laid in the ground for the purpose of harming others.

Imagine the events in the coming years due to the advance of science, when new weapons will be produced to spread terror and kill innocent people. If we imagine what will happen to man because of the wickedness of his heart, we will conclude that it is no use preaching love, because, as God said, after they all died in the Flood, saving only eight souls, the imagination of the human heart is evil from its youth (Genesis 8.21). Only Christ saves!

We need not fear the future, because as evil increases, the Most High works on behalf of His people to provide the necessary escape. The devil always wanted to put an end to mankind, so that Christ would not be born. However, as much as he tried to erase the chance for the Son of God to come down to us, the evil one could not stop the divine plan. The Father is tremendous in His works and in the judgments made in our favor. Here is the certainty: the Lord will never fold His arms!

To be under Christ’s guidance is the best thing to do. See what He has promised us: I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eyes (Psalm 32.8). David knew how to emerge victorious from battles, because he walked in the Way shown by Heaven. When we analyze the Scriptures concerning the plan of salvation, we will discover that everything is already done.

Israel paid no attention when the Lord raised up a fierce and well-armed enemy against His people. Now, the Israelites turned away from God’s presence to do the dirty and wicked will of the kingdom of darkness. Oh! If Israel had shown understanding, the pains they suffered would not have even hit them. Just as it happened in the days of the judges, when the Most High raised up men to deliver His people, He can act in this way today.

If Christians would devote themselves to knowing the Almighty, the only Lord of the Universe, the desires of the wicked would not prevail over the fate of God’s beloved. We need to have our minds and eyes opened by the Word, so as not to give the devil the pleasure of hindering us or hitting us with his poisoned darts (Ephesians 6.10-17). As we study the history of mankind, we will see that, on several occasions, many people harbored hatred against God’s people, but to no avail.

The devil may fly like an eagle, but we will be carried, like Elijah, who was carried by the Most High Himself (1 Kings 18.12). It is possible that this prophet was transported above the speed of light, because the Lord himself had taken him where he wanted to go, and the Almighty has not forgotten nor lost this ability. We will witness wonders from God!
