“Show Your marvelous loving kindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them.” (Psalm 17:7)
David, the Psalmist, prayed for God to show him the wonders of His loving kindness because he did not want to live only on comforting words. My brethren, this is the will of the Lord for all of His children, so do not be satisfied only with knowing that God is good and that He can do all things and that there is none like Him. Those things are wonderful but they are not all. And what about suffering? Can’t the Lord get rid of it? Can’t He make you prosperous? Can’t He solve our problems? Yes, He can. And that is how He wants us to think, believe and serve Him. Do not hesitate to ask for your deliverance; on the contrary, be bold and cry out for the loving kindness to be plentiful in your life.
Why did the Lord mention in the Bible so many references from His interventions on nature, in people’s lives and in governments? Would He do it just for us to know that He can do all things or perhaps for us to learn the way He wants to be in us? Believers have to learn to have a daring faith and to demand the end of their suffering and to seek the wonderful operations God did in the past which, undoubtedly, He wants to repeat today.
Trusting in God is not about boasting or speaking of the Lord’s name in vain. It is being before Him in prayer and confessing that you do not accept any oppressive power in your life. Those who are that honest with God will have Him operating the same way that He did in the lives of those that served Him in the past. He is the same at all times (Hebrews 13:8) and He performs the same wonders for all those who believe in Him – all you have to do is trust in His Word.
That is more serious and deeper than it seems. When the enemy goes against someone he goes against the right hand of the Lord – the place where we were put when we accepted Jesus as our
Savior. Praying over that Truth will cause God to rise and begin fighting on our behalf. What the enemy does not want to happen is that we know the Truth because then he will be able to finish his filthy and daring work of going against the power of God. Sons and daughters of God: do not shut your mouth.
David wanted to be in the divine refuge. To him, if he was there, the devil would no longer get in his way. Those who are out of that refuge allow the devil to challenge the right hand of God. But, when a Christian places himself in the right position he puts the power of the Lord at work.
Jesus came to bring us an abundant life (John 10:10b); however, in the lives of many it is suffering that abounds instead. Do not accept that. Pray to God and get rid of your sins through repentance and through confession. Be strong and the divine power will put the enemy out of the way!
In Christ, with love,
