Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.
Mark 5:10
Whenever you come across demons, do not be afraid because they fear the order of a Christian against them. Everyone who is called to be a disciple of Jesus is given authority and power against evil. According to the Word, as a son or daughter of God, you have the authority to heal the sick, rebuke the doings of Satan and cast out evil spirits (Matthew 10:8). Do not disbelieve, therefore, the authority conferred to you by the Son of God Himself.
With the coming of Jesus, it was as if the Lord God had opened the era of His people’s sovereignty over the kingdom of darkness. He gave His Son – who became flesh as one of us (John 1:14) – the necessary power to do the work of God (Matthew 28:18). However, before returning to heaven, Jesus said that just as the Father sent Him He was sending us (John 20:21). Since then, he who believes in the Savior is able to perform the work just as He did.
He who has power over a snake can take it up it by its tail and cast it out (Mark 16:18). That’s what those demons asked the Lord not to do. Now, we do not need to plan what to do with the entity that might be manifested in someone’s body but if we walk in the Spirit, we will have the right direction of what should be done. The wise man knows the time and manner of doing the work (Ecclesiastes 8:5).
One thing we can be sure of: Jesus gave us power over all the demons and all the powers of evil. So, get ready to be used by God and never lose courage before a person in whom the demon manifests itself, no matter how strong he seems to be. Because the devil is a liar (John 8:44), when he says he will leave a person’s body, he is actually saying that is already getting out. He beats a retreat if we issue the order in Jesus’ name.
He who has power does not shiver nor gets flustered before any adverse situation, however serious it might be because Satan knows that when we order him to leave in the Name of Jesus, God himself will act. As a servant of the Lord, do not be afraid to use the authority granted to you over the enemy’s power. Stay away from sin, shun wrongful thoughts and practices and in so doing the Almighty will use you for His glory.
Work for the Kingdom. By obeying the Master you will see that the Word does not fail. The Most High is calling the saved to accomplish His work in this generation. What happened at other times happens today, it is the same God who anoints and uses us. Do not look for demons but do not hide from them either. Just be a worker of the Lord, because that is what you have been made for.
