Furthermore King David said to all the assembly: My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is young and inexperienced; and the work is great, because the temple is not for man but for the LORD God. 1 Chronicles 29.1

There are many things Jesus wants to tell us, but we are like Martha, who was upset to see Mary, her sister, sitting at Christ’s feet listening to His teaching, and complained about her to the Savior (Luke 10.38-42). We must live in the true Way; thus, we will never be confounded on the last Day nor be sent to the lake of fire: Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the Day of Judgment (2 Peter 2.9). Believe it!

David was one of the most enlightened men in the Bible. He gave himself to the Father and received instructions that made him good at everything, including composing the Psalms, which contain consolations, teachings and prophecies. David acted as a worshipper and warrior of the utmost ability, and finally he was worthy of this praise from the Lord, given to those who persevere in faith: Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord (Matthew 25:21).

From David’s lips came words that, even today, awaken our desire to dedicate ourselves to the Most High, fulfilling what He has planned. This king spoke to the congregation about Solomon, who had been chosen by God to succeed him. He left no doubt in his other sons. Thus, they would not create problems for the new ruler, such as wars or betrayals. We need to be good servants in everything!

Remember: there will be the judgment seat of Christ, where we will give an account of our deeds: But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ (Romans 14:10). On that occasion, we will be judged for what we have done in our daily lives. So never make the decision that pleases you, but the one God has pointed out. Know that liars will suffer the second death (Revelation 21:8).

David said that Solomon was still young and tender, therefore the congregation should be patient so that he would mature to be king and shepherd of Israel. This was very important and of great responsibility. How to be a pastor of a small or big church? You see, your family is your congregation, and your children, being still immature, need everyone’s help.

Serving God is one of the most difficult things, for anyone who wishes to do so in a blameless manner, must strive in the Word and in prayer, so that innate desires do not lead him astray or corrupt him. One cannot bring shame to the Body of Christ. Jesus said: Woe to the world because of offenses. For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! (Matthew 18.7). Watch out!

Just as the palace built by Solomon was not a building for man but for God, the work of the Lord is intended for people who will act as gods (John 10:34-36). Therefore, let us be rational and at the same time seek enlightenment from the Word. The harvest is truly great (Matthew 9:37)!

In Christ, with love,

Beloved God! What a responsibility weighs upon us! Doing Your work is our greatest challenge. We have to believe in Jesus to do everything as it pleases You. Therefore, we need to ask You to always help us!

Just as David confessed to the congregation that Solomon's choice came from You, even though the young man was immature, we confess that we need Your help. We do not want to sin or fail to do good to people. With You, we will succeed!

Guided by Your power, we walk under Your hands! We bow before You and cry out for the indispensable understanding to finish the mission. In the end, we will say: "We have fought the good fight, we have kept the faith and we hope for the crown of righteousness!".
