He who hates, disguises it with his lips, and lays up deceit within himself. 

Proverbs 26:24

There are people who go astray and in so doing they sadden the Spirit of the Lord. However, since they lack the courage to confess their error, they are constantly disguising. Even with their conscience accusing them day and night, they are deterred by the shame they would feel if they confessed their deeds. But with such attitude they do not realize that their situation in the spiritual world is the worst because they go from deception to deception, hiding their terrible betrayal.

He who turns aside from the Way is known by the way he talks because there seems to be no fault in him. This person judges others and condemns anyone who has done something wrong, even if this wrong is lesser than his own, but he believes that if he continues to conceal his tragic life style, one day his error will be forgotten. What this person does not know, however, is that this attitude is the result of a heart filled with the spirit of deception. What a miserable life this person has!

The sign indicating that someone is saved becomes obvious when he or she does something wrong but soon goes after the one he or she has offended and makes amends. The lost would never do that. The lost would say he or she did not do anything wrong. We must apologize to those we offend, but those who insist on a life of deception will be placed in the eternal jail from where they will never come out.

The hearts of those who do not walk with the Lord is always full of deception. They cannot be trusted because they lie blatantly and never admit their faults. They do that because the devil’s spirit that led them to transgressing does not want to lose them. The day will come when the Spirit of the Lord will no longer strive with man (Genesis 6:3).

Do not believe anyone who is always disguising, even if he or she speaks kindly to you, because he/she will pretend to be an \”angel\” when, in fact, there are seven abominations in their heart (Proverbs 26:25). Do not be a surety of such individual but, directly or indirectly, make him see that he did wrong and if he continues this way, the day will come when he will be lost forever.

He who does not abide by the divine precepts can disguise their error with \”the best illusion,\” but when he finds himself amid the holy people his ways will be revealed. If we serve God as we should, we will be able to do a lot for that person. However, if we walk in the flesh, the Holy Spirit cannot use us to open his eyes, and, as a result, we will be held accountable for the loss of this life. 

Live always in the Spirit and you will never be fooled by those who have been corrupted. With the Lord working in us, even a look can send a message to such people. The Word says that in the congregation in which God works, the secrets of the hearts of those who are in darkness are revealed (Proverbs 26:26). It would be so nice if we had such a congregation today, where the lost confess their sin, admitting that God is among us!
