And He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
Matthew 17:2-3
Even though we know we are born in sin, the Almighty has wonderful experiences in store for each one of us, and one of the greatest gifts God can bestow on us is our spiritual transfiguration. The truth is that God\’s grace is ready to work wonders in our midst – and it can transform us completely, turning us into true children of Light. So brethren, even though while you were a sinner you were used by the devil in the worst possible way, now after having accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you have God operating in your life.
It is not good to waste the revelations that the Lord gives us through His Word, which can be shown to us as promises or admonishments. Actually, we must accept everything God tells us – whether His words are pleasant or unpleasant at first; after all, the Almighty opens our understanding so that we can have the best of Him. One of the best things we can have is obtained through prayer or even by hearing the preaching which is when our spirit is transfigured.
What happens inside our hearts is something beautiful! When we are presented with these revelations we can hear the Lord’s voice, which is powerful to break every chain that binds us and to deliver us from any addiction or temptation. Besides, it empowers us with the divine power, which enables us to rebuke the evil one and thus win the battle! However, if we do not hear the voice from on High, we cannot overcome the enemy when he attacks us.
It would be great if we were transfigured with the glory of God 24 hours a day! Many temptations would not even come close to us, and a large number of people would ask for our help because they would see in us something they need. Then, with our face shining with the glory of the Lord we would certainly be better received, and the doors would be opened to us as if by miracle.
If we were transfigured, our clothes would be so white they would draw the attention of the greatest sinners. People yearn for contact with the Lord, but our lack of anointing does not allow them to see that we can show them the solution to their problems. What is worse is that they cannot see the brightness of faith in our lives, they avoid us and seek help from other sources which are, in fact, broken cisterns (Jeremiah 2:13).
If there is something we should really seek it is God\’s presence. With it, we lead a better life because in this way the evil one is not able to attack us. Seeking the excellence of Jesus should be the goal of every Christian. If they do the same works He did in the past, they too will go through the same experiences!
